Possibility of Sitting Through a Game in Montreal?

Hello everyone! As is probably quite obvious, I'm new here and to the sport in general. I've had an interest in this sport for quite a while and have lurked on these forums for quite some time before I decided to finally create this profile. Before I get to my question I'm going to be completely plainly spoken and say that I am NOT 18 yet, I only turned 15 back in August. I have no intentions of begging or whining about the rules of the forum or the laws regarding airsoft in Canada. I'm not going to ask where I can buy guns in Canada, or how to bypass importation laws. Google's a neat search engine, and any answers regarding those things I can find elsewhere.

That aside, onto the question! Myself and a friend of mine (same age, also interested in airsoft) would like to have the opportunity to sit and watch a game here in Montreal, and perhaps meet some people in the Montreal airsoft community. We feel that this would be beneficial for our learning more about the sport and understanding how a true, organized game plays out. We realize that at this age we aren't able to play, and we accept that, but we'd still like to go and see a game for ourselves and speak to the people involved in the sport here in Montreal. Our only problem is that we have no idea where we would be able to do this. I myself have heard that Action 500 in Laval has airsoft days, but I've not been able to confirm this as of yet. I've also heard that Arnold's in LaSalle has airsoft games, but once again I've not been able to confirm this. Does anyone know if it would be possible for us to go and watch a game and where we would be able to do this?

Thanks a bunch,

-JDens

First of all, I'd like to say; Good start on ASC.

Second, I'm not sure about Montreal games but I have heard of the Action500 name tossed around so I assume there are airsoft nights there. Check out here in the Montreal games section:

Just PM the field marshal/admin who's in charge of the night and ask. You may be allowed to sit in or may not so don't get your hopes up but at least it's a good first step and shows maturity (plus this first post probably helps to show you're not some kidiot tool as well).

Thanks very much for the link! I'll be sure to keep checking that as it seems that most of the games there are either very far into the planning process or are Milsim (which I doubt I'd be allowed to sit through XD). I'll keep my eye on that forum regardless as I did see more than a few Action 500 listings on there and I'm sure more are bound to pop up .

FYI the AC500 field used is in Montreal, not Laval.

You may want to pack a camera too, that's how I first got on a field.

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info, that's a lot more convenient for me as Laval is a bit out of the way from where I live on the island.

You think I'd have a better chance of sitting through a game if I offered to film/take pictures of it? I'd be interested in doing that I'm just not sure how the field admins/players would feel about that.

Thanks for all the info and help you guys, I really appreciate it, especially since I'm a noob on these forums

Oh ya allow Juke to film games. He came to our recent new years game got good shots to. You gotta realize Airsofters are half here to see how badass they look in the gear, offering to get good action shots of them in game, doesn't hurt your chances.

Hey all,

great site. New here and looking to get into some AIRSOFT. Just a couple clarifications because I've been on the phone with AC500 this morning.

They have two locations: Montreal near L'Assomption metro and LAVAL.

Airsoft is played on Tuesday nights, but it's not every Tuesday and it's best to phone in advance before going just to make sure there's a game.

The girl on the phone also mentioned that sometimes they play on Sundays, but she didn't say that the first time I called so I suspect it's very seldom.

Otherwise it looks like this may take some individual effort to get games set up outside of AC500. I have access to property in the Laurentiens and would be happy to organize something once I get set up and meet some players.

Well you can start by not necroing a 5 month old thread.

Search up some of your local clubs, or check in your local fields and ask if they have open club nights. Also, READ THE INFO ON ASC, can't stress that enough. This forum has a ridiculous amount of useful information.

Have a look in the Quebec Events section, find a game that interest you.

If you have the gear, join. If not, send a message to the organizer to see if you can go to observe. Most of times it should be ok.
