TM FN5-7 five-seven help (part)
Hi all,
I bought a 5-7 "new" from someone, and i believe it was new except for some mild test firing. problem: the TM FN 5-7 has a plastic outer slide, and an inner slide made of a combination of materials. The inside slide has a metal fitting screwed into plastic and the screw holes are bad/ stripped. slide catch locked hard the first time I used the gun because the metal portion shifted. I need help tracking down an INSIDE SLIDE. I know they are hard to come by but any help is appreciated... i'd really like to re-instal my slide catch so I know when my mags are empty. this is a link to a metal aftermarket part I found...... but of course is out of stock with no anticipation of restocking.... but at least you get the idea of the part I mean. http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=15221 |

You know, I would totally love a stock part number and if a doc/retailer knows how to get this part I would likely get it through them/you......

I would need the TM part number, in order to get it in for you. I'm able to do TM orders once a year. One cycle has just passed. It will be several months till the next OEM order.

Just giving an update on this issue. Someone helped me track down an aftermarket part- thanks!!
I installed it, things seem good. Getting the slide internals out is a bit tricky because the stock inside slide is held in place by one-way clips and spreading the outside slide apart slightly width-wise is required to remove the parts. The swap is not difficult, but requires a cautious hand. if you have any questions because you have to do this swap feel free to PM me |
