Boredom + Camera = Movie About ROF

I thought it'd be a cool idea to record the varying ROFs of a multitude of guns using a multitude of different batteries. However I only have two different guns and three different batteries right now, but it's a good start. As I say in the movie, I've got an ICS M4 upgraded with I believe an M120, as well as a CA33E upgraded with an SP100. I'd test the other batteries in my CA33E, but it's got Deans Ultra connectors and I don't have an adaptor yet. The M4 is shimmed too tightly I believe, as the ROF is pretty depressing, but it is still good for comparing how different batteries perform. When I've got some more time, I'll get my team's guns and batteries together and I'll do more videos comparing the AUG, MP5K, HK51, SG551, P90 and hopefully whatever else we find around the house with 8.4V 600mAh NiCad minis, 8.4V and 9.6V 1100mAh NiMH minis/sticks, an 8.4V 1300mAh NiCad large, a 9.6V 1700mAh NiCad A-cell, 9.6V 2500mAh NiMH A-cell, 8.4V 2400mAh NiCad large and the infamous 9.6V 3700mAh NiMH large.

As a warning, don't use batteries that are too powerful for your gun. Depending on the spring you have in there, you should not go above certain voltages and amperages or you WILL kill your piston in a short time of full-auto use.

Amperage DOES make a difference in ROF - the higher the amperage, the larger the cell, the less internal resistance in the cell which results in higher ROF. Voltage makes a greater difference, but amperage does make a noticeable difference as well.

As an example, an 8.4v 2400mAh NiCd sub-c pack will kill a stock setup's piston in about 10,000 rounds if a lot of full auto is used.

You also have to be very careful with your motor using extremely high capacity batteries... I'm pretty sure that 3700 will fry a TM motor in a few thousand rounds. CA, Systema or Eagle Force are excellent choices for higher power setups.

This thread really isn't meant to be taken as "the biggest battery is the best." I'd like to get some more clips of stock or close-to-stock guns with stronger batteries... they'll be firing too fast to feed properly.

That's understood, anyway. There's no need to overpower the internals of any AEG with heavy power or lots of current. The effect, while it lasts, is still rather impressive.
