Ported Cylinder question
Hi guys,
I don't know a lot about ported/unported cylinders other than certain cylinders are required for different barrel lengths. I was looking at buying a lonex TBB and drop in gearbox. The gearbox's cylinder is rated for inner barrels between 363-400mm barrel. However, the barrel I was looking at is 455mm. Will that extra 55 make any difference? |

You will need a non ported (full cylinder) otherwise your current cylinder will not have enough air volume to keep pushing the bbs beyond the end of the barrel. This will cause your bbs to start slowing down while still inside your barrel, affecting accuracy.

Full Type 0 cylinder (No Hole - for inner barrel length 450mm+)
Type 1 Cylinder (Tip hole - for inner barrel length 350-450mm) Type 2 cylinder ("M4 hole" - for inner barrel length 229-430mm)

With lighter weight bb it won't make any difference at all. When you run a heavier bb (0.28+) you will have a drop in joule output but nothing to really get too concerned about.
I would just switch the cylinder out with a full one. They don't cost much if you don't have one already. |

Its best to be on the low end of what the cylinders rated to.
So you'll want a full cyl for best performance, but it'll work fine with the ported cylinder for now |
