WE M14 gaspiston came apart from bolt?

So recently I installed a RA-Tech Trigger box and i did some test shots when all of a sudden the bolt seemed to have lost all spring to return home. So i pulled the assembly out of the stock and noticed this.

So i hammered them back together and it worked for a couple more shots until it worked itself out again.
Am i doing something wrong? or is something broken?

Welcome to the first stage of WE M14 hell.

Your oprod broke by the looks of it. Which isn't uncommon, the gun shakes itself apart since its cheaply made by WE.

I'm not sure whether RATech offers an overpriced replacement part or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could somehow make a real one work. Might be cheaper in the long run and more durable.

it just friction fit, I hammered it back on and it was fine when mine came apart, but just to be sure i coated it all in JBweld and redid it
I love my M14

Yeah I was thinking of the idea of hammering it back together and then gluing. I just didnt know if it was maybe a cotter pin got loose or something. Why didnt they just make it one big piece???:banghead:
