v3 owners sticky trigger?
so nightfall seemed to exacerbate an issue with my g36. The trigger has been behaving like it has a weak trigger spring, the gun functions fine. but the trigger itself sometimes is sluggish or refuses to spring back forward, behaving like the spring is weak.
Has anyone else experienced this on a v3? Any suggestions to remedy this? I've replaced the trigger spring only to have the same issue, but the new one also felt really spongy and mushy. The trigger doesn't seem to bind when the gearbox is out of the lower, and this seems to be only an issue when the gun is assembled. It's been doing it since I've owned the gun, but at nightfall halfway through it just decided to stop springing all together and I had to physically push it back forward. and yes, the trigger and spring are being installed correctly. The trigger works sometimes but other times it does not and needs help.

I believe it does. It's not anything to do with the shuttle or the contact housing as far as I can tell, the physical trigger is just sticky.

My g36 was doing the same thing. Although, I tightened the cover on the microswitch too much during reassembly. It would work out of the body, but would stick while the gearbox was installed in the grip. Basically there was too much resistance on the microswitch, so it would get stuck after a shot was fired.
Yours happened mid game, so that doesn't quite sound the same. But that was my problem anyway. |

this g36 is not microswitch equipped.

Binding when inside the body coming about mid game sounds to me like a selector/cutoff lever issue. I'd check the cutoff lever screw to make sure it's in all the way. And make sure the cutoff spring is good too.

Had this happening about four years back, it ended up being because the spring post on the sled was getting caught on the bottom of the tappet plate.

the sled is not connected to the physical trigger, in fact I can clear hear it pop all the way back when I pull the trigger. The physical trigger then is sluggish springing back. If it were the problem you're describing pesto it would exist with the gearbox outside of the lower.
Cutoff is also screwed in tight with a good spring. Guess I'm going to have to pull it apart and look.

resolution:
replaced the trigger switch entirely. I was going to only swap out the shuttle but the spares I had didn't fit in the tracks. Inspected the old shuttle and noticed there was a valley worn into the plastic. Feeling in the channel with a flat screwdriver where the trigger arm pulls it and slides, I could feel the different areas of friction as well as a noticeable dip. Also on all 3 shuttles I have in my possession there is some mold flashing sticking up where the hook for the trigger slides through. Replacing the trigger improved the action but on a few occasions it still got stuck. I'm guessing it's catching on this flashing at this point, but the trigger has returned to serviceable condition.
