O'ring mod issue
Hey everyone,
I didn't see any forums on this topic so I thought I would ask. I have noticed with the last few AEGs I have build that too many o rings in front of the hop unit causes the AEG not to fire properly. The issue I am faced with is this; with no mod, the rifle fires fine but there is some compression being lost between the nozzle and the bucking. Once I add an o ring or 2, the compression becomes far more consistent but only 1/3 bb's will fire properly. They will either roll out of the barrel or not feed into the chamber at all. Is there a fix for this I am not seeing? Or is this just an issue everyone faces? Thanks, |

Would help if we know what gun you have. But I can tell you right now that no, this is not an issue that the vast majority of people are faced with.

The O-rings are not the problem. It is possible that your nozzle is either too long or not retracting enough so when the hop up is actually tight against the gearbox, there are feeding issues.

So far I have experienced this with an umerex g36c, VA M4, Kwa m4, and an HK 416 (not sure of the manufacturer. I was trouble shooting with the kwa yesterday and even dropping a single be in the chamber and firing is not pushing it through on ever shot. When it does shoot it's a solid 435 fps every time. All these guns were fitting with a lonex 70 degree bucking and a flat hop. As soon as I remove the rings, they all fire perfectly
By the sounds of things, it is something I am doing but I am perplexed. Gonna try a different bucking and see if that makes any difference Thanks |

I had the same issue believe it or not my issue was I replaced the tappet plate so the nozzle was not fully sealing with the bucking. When i measured the tappet plate I had in vs the stock VFC tappet plate the tab that holds the spring and tail length were fractions off but it made all the difference. Also different nozzles can attribute to the problem as well I've found with KWA and VFC sometimes its better to keep some of the stock parts.

I check out the nozzles and the difference seems to only be that the kwa stock has the guide in the top of it but I am think it must have something to do with that. Stock nozzle fires perfectly, but air seal sucks on it. I haven't changed the tapper plat and the ball seems like it's was just not feeding into the hop up properly. I still have the stock cylinder head to I am gonna swap it out and see if maybe it's slightly bent or something and not properly aligning.
Thanks for the insight! |
