not necessarily a problem, but is there a way to tighten the fire selector switch?
I have a VFC HK416 and MP5K. on both of them, the fire selector doesn't give a crisp snap/click when switch firing modes and instead only makes a slight click sound. I wonder if this is just common across all airsoft models as I have fired RS AR style rifles and the fire selector is relatively firmer and more crisp.

Most AEGs are like this because the "click" is caused by the tiny spring and ball bearing on the bottom surface of the switch vs the detent pin and longer spring coming up through the receiver in a real AR or GBBR: because the selector itself is very thin, the spring [in AEGs] has very little travel so the dimple on the receiver is shallow and you get a sloppy "click." PTWs are designed differently so they also produce a crisper click. The quality of the receiver will also affect this: "soft" edges on moulding will contribute to a looser feel, while good quality receivers with a slightly deeper dimple and well defined edges will produce a more solid click into position.

Well if you had a 416 ptw, all you'd have to do is tighten a screw.
But yeah all aegs have real soft shitty selectors like that. Very difficult to make them stiffer. You'd need to take material off the backing plate and source a higher strength spring for the clickball. |

For clarification both of them are gbbs. I can also compare the selector switch to the safeties on gbb pistols. The selectors on pistols are quite firm and solid, doesn't feel too flimsy.
