Marushin Kar98 on propane?

I have just bought a marushin Kar98 for my ww2 collection, and I am wondering if it can take propane.

I see on Redwolfairsoft that they recommend HFC134a, but I also have a musruhin M1 carbine that also recommends that HFC134a, but runs fine on propane.

The gun will probably shoot hot, but i'm not planning on using it in the field (ejecting shells). Just mostly for my collection and ocassional plinking in the basement.

I'm just wondering if it is okay to use propane on the gun and/or if anyone has tried it on propane. Also if anyone else has any other info on the gun, it would be appreciated. I did a search, but I can't really find any info on it (mostly on the Tanaka Kar98, but was unable to get one since they are out of production).

Any comments or reviews would be appreciated.

I used to run with a Tanaka KAR, and always used Green. Never had any issues, however Marushin may be different too!

I've used Green on my Marushin for a long time. Personally I've given up caring about the gun a long time ago. It's been nothing but a headache for me, including a from-the-factory defective hop-up. One thing you may notice is that with green your over-flow valve may vent it all. I gave up with it, an' glued it closed. *shrugs*

It is actually, the Tanaka has a magazine, all their rifle magazines are quite good, and handle propane well. But the marushin fires off the shells and I believe the resevoir is in the stock of the gun.

It's actually in the bolt, which is prone to failing.
