KJW P14 vs. KJW 1911 single-stack
Share your thoughts, guys. Which would be the more reliable gun to get and least likely to fuck up? Yes, I've researched and read many reviews. Many of them state that the P14 has problems with leaky mags and wont cycle well in cold weather (bad for us Canadians). But there is a new version with with adjustable hop-up and some problems may have been remedied. There are less reviews of the 1911 but they seem to be positive so far, and I think it was released more recently than the P14.
Thank you for your help. |

KJW M1911? I thought that line was more or less aborted after experiencing severe problems in the first batch. I researched them when I was choosing my first GBB, but reviews were hard to come by and the guns seemed uncommon.
May I ask why not TM1911? Is metal content an issue?

rc_p120, are you sure that 1991a1 reviewed is made by KJ?
WE recently released full metal 1911a1. You might've been reading reviews about WE, not KJ. I was thinking about getting KJ 1911A1 back in the day. Every single person who reviewed that gun was complaining about problems. |

Yeah metal content is an issue. I would like to use propane and like the feel of metal GBBs.
Were the 1911s discontinued? Now that you mention it they werent listed on WGCshop or redwolf. I have only seen these reviews, one of which says they received a defective batch- http://www.858airsoft.com/reviews/kjw1911single.html (guys who get defects) http://www.jungletoy.com/11_1-1_2004.aspx http://www.airsoftohio.com/reviews/s...php?product=53 If anybody knows for sure if the single stack 1911 by KJ is gone please post! Thanks. |

For more information on the KJW1911, search Arnies forum (KJW + M1911), go back and start reading from around page 44.

Grim Fandango was working on KJ 1911a1 group order a while ago. According to him there was a problem with molds and KJ decided to stop the production. They were supposed to re-release it, but that never happened.

Uh, that's a downfall to ALL gas guns. Unless the mags are heated somehow, none of them will perform for shit in cold weather. Lots of players in Calgary keep springer pistols handy as replacement sidearms when the weather gets colder.

Sorry, I meant to say that its comparatively bad/worse than others according to the reviews.

Single stackers, being short on gas in the first though, will perform far worst than their larger cousins. However, realistically speaking, we're probably talking about the difference between getting off 3 rounds instead of 8 rounds, not a big variation on the suck scale. I was rather hoping for a warm winter so I could use a GBB. Maybe I can try those foot warming stickers...
Zoolander, I think you should take a look at the WE1911. It's probably better than the P14 in most respects. Full metal, plenty of upgrade parts, apparently amazing hopup and accuracy, etc. You can gut it and refill it with aftermark internals and it'll still be cheaper than slapping a metal kit on a TM1911. Mags are rather expensive and a bit hard to come by, but not impossibly so. Some lemons floating around as one'd expect with WE, but KJW ain't no angel either in that respect.
