Installing Guarder Infinite Torque up gears

Hi,

I'm trying to install a bnew guarder infinite gears... since this is my first time to install & shimm a helical gear.. I'm not sure what's is happening why it's not rotating freely.. I'm experienced in shimming flat gears. I think.. it has the same thought. Everytime i close the gearbox, i can't rotate the bevel gear freely with the spur gear.. i have no problem with the spur & sector gears.. just the connections of bevel-spur gear. I've checked the shims hundred of times... but i can't see the problem.

Soo... i tried to break-in my gears by rotating it freely using the motor without the spring and piston... ... I almost fry my EG700 motor.. please HELP!!!

I think there's something wrong with the bevel-spur gear.. both are pushing up & down with each other.

thanks in advance.

does the gear rotate freely when the gearbox is open?
do they rotate freely as well if you close the gearbox but don't tighten it with the screws?

check the bottom shims (when gearbox opened/shooting to the right)

also check that no superstructure of the gearbox (or cable holders) touches the new gears that wasn't touching the former ones...

Complete your profile with your location, then either a local expert will contact you or you'll be able to contact them?

Details on the gun and all the other upgrades may be a good thing too.

Ver 3. gearbox.. other upgrades are not relevant cause i wont able to load them without putting the gears first...

Anyway... yes!! the gears are freeely rotating when the gearbox is open. but when it's closed... even not that tight.. it wont.

is it ok not to put shims on some sides of the gears??? well, i can't put a shim anymore. it's fit!

Check that all your metal bushings are seated correctly and not slanted. load your gears on the other half of the open mechbox and try cycling again.
Then cycle it closed with out shimms.

Then shim and cycle with tighten screws until it's shimmed properly.

Also does your set of gears need a half teeth piston? Asking since you did mention Infinite Torque up gears and nothing else. What brand of metal bushing are you using?(assuming you know well enough to upgrade to metal bushings.) Some factory defects have bushings with smaller holes so the gear can't spin at all. Check all your bushings.
If you want help you'll need to give more useful info or else we are just going to list the standard troubleshoot guide to ya.

Yup!!!

obviously, I've posted the same problem... hahahaha!!!

I'm just wondering if I can still figure out how to fix this.

anyway.. is it possible to put the gears without shimming on some sides?? If that's the fitting. There's no place to put some more.

I already have the half tooth piston.. but I'm not loading it yet. I'm still fixing the gears problem. I have no problem with the bushing holes.. it fits just right. My another problem is.. the bushings are like 6mm thick each.. that's why I'm also having problem shimming it the way I want. My bevel gear are already tight when the gearbox is closed.. even there're no shims yet. I'm thinking of sand paper-ing it. I think that would help.

My question is.. is it ok for some gears to have no shims? I might put a thin one on the bottom, but i can't no longer put another one on the top.

btw, my bushings are fine.. (i guess). I've been using it with my stock gears for almost a year. So slanted issue is i think out of the topic.

shims are required

check if gear are misaligned, especially the last 2 ones...
check that the thingy behind the last gear works properly...

OMG.... I'm just seeing a hairline crack on my gearbox... one at the trigger pivot hole... and one at the front end of the cylnder..

so what made my gb crack. I'm using a TM Ver3 gearbox.. they said it can last even on SP170.. I'm just using SP160..

So what made my GB crack?

Ah, you are the guy from the Philippines who has not updated his profile's location yet.

Want to know what is wrong here? Your gun is DESIGNED for about 300fps. It is sold with springs and internals that are set to provide perfect function for years.

You chose to go at least 150 to 200fps above the factory limits that the ENGINEERS built it for.

What do you expect to happen? You were told things would break. Now they have. Call that a learning experience.

A crack still isn't going to stop the gears from spinning...

That is his original question.

By the way, a new gearbox isn't too expensive for a version three. Just get a reinforced/after market one. Should last longer than the TM.

Maybe when you close it the anti-reversal latch is in backwards? If you're experienced... I doubt that, but it does seem to rest in a backwards position... Put the gears in the other side of the box and see if it's on that end. The problem, I mean.
