Question, might be dumb, might not, dont flame to hard

i was just wondering, if you could run a GBB on butane or pentane gas, cause we run them on propane and well butane has less gunky bi-products in it. and i can get butane and pentane gas for free from my work. so tell me if its a no no. i dont want to try it unless i know for certain. all i know is if i could run on butane, i could do it for no cost at all.

dont flame to hard if this seems retarded

Butane = no. Pressure is too low.

Not sure about pentane.

Butane is a bastard gas.

I believe this was brought up before and their was a reason it isn't used. MadMax can probably explain the science behind why.

cool thanks guys, i wasnt gonna try anyways, i was just wondering if it WOULD work cause i can get that shit for free by the gallon ( i think we have 3, 1 million litre tanks of it at work)

well im not 100% sure but some how butane seems like a bad idea..
altho the other gasses are also flamable butane is really flamable so a small spark or static discharge while fireing it may cause a small flame ball in your hand..

i dont think there would be to much damage by this quick flare up but if it happened on a cold day when the gbb has the chance to stay open and vent all the gass then yes that would be an issue

but thats just my 2 cents

i doubt youd get any explosive reaction, but I heard that some gases can damage plastic parts and seals.

Butane doesn't exert enough pressure to properly cycle GBBs. Pentane is a liquid at room temperature, meaning it's useless to airsoft. Sorry dude.
