WE Hicapa 5.1 Cycling Problem
I game with a WE Hicapa 5.1 Dragon Model (the black half-slide one with chrome barrel) and when the gun fires it only blows back half-way so that it still shoots the chambered bb, but doesn't go far enough back to Chamber the next bb.
My suspicion is that in the cylinder attached to the feeding nossle either a) the o-ring doesn't have a proper seal so the gas does not get the resistance needed for the blowback or b) the inside of the cylinder has worn away making a gap for gas to freely ignore teh seal. any help would be much appreciated. |

Well after some tinkering my suspicion has been proven wrong,
I took the WORKING cylinder and piston head from a working WE hicapa type-R and got the same result. I could Really use the help people, im outta ideas. EDIT: After more tinkering i've found that the problem lies within the grip/body it'self, the silde/barrel system works perfectly on the Type-R grip/body. Are we talking about a lame half-way blowback or an abrupt half-way stop? Former could be a bad seal between the mag's rubber gas exit thing and the slide's nozzle assemble, latter could be a physical impediment somewhere.

I think it's the stopping problem because the bb's still get some good power out of it.
also considering the silde/barrel set work fine on the second hicapa's frame. |

anyone know the fix for this? EDIT: Btw, the slide/gas chamber setup/mag is used on both frames, it just refuses to work on the dragon frame. (it works on the type-r frame) Last edited by Jyce; February 3rd, 2007 at 17:15.. Reason: forgot info. |

After talking to a local airsofter, i've pinned the problem,
It was that the magazine is being off-set too low because of wear on the magazine catch. the magazine catch had gotten worn down over a year of gaming (and chairsofting :P) so just a headsup to any WE hi-capa users, the mag-catch is an eventual problem, it's already happening on my type-r aswell. |
