Upgrade for outdoor play

I'm planing upgrading my M16 for outdoor play. I did a quick search of FPS limits and I've found that 400 seems to be the max for AEGs. Now I'm not going for the max, more like 360-380. Would this be a good idea? My M4 shoots at 340 and I've been using this indoors and outdoors. Would 360-380 give me just a little more reach?

Also, I've been using guarder springs, sometimes I have to try a few at the same rating before I get a the FPS I want. Should I change spring companies?

What ammo weight do you use outside? I can offer some suggestions for you, and can even keep the same spring in there (adding a 6.04mm tightbore and bearing spring guide can collectively get you up to around 360ish if you don't have them already installed). And 0.25g BBs will get you better accuracy and farther range than 0.20g (if that's what yo uuse currently).

+/- 20 fps at 350ish will not make a big difference. My M733 shoots 340 and I use it indoor and out. Tightbore barrel + .25 bbs and you're good to go.

I've been suing 0.20g, I shall have to try 0.25g. The mechbox in my M16 is one that I want to upgrade, my m4 is mainly now going to be for indoor use. I shall try the bearing spring guide and tightbore along with my other planned upgrades and see what happens.

I use .25's, since I've changed ammo I have noticed the flight of the bb's is alot straighter, and uneffected by leaves, twigs, and slight breezes. Althought most of the guy on my team are now switching to the .23's, still almost the same stability in flight, but with a little more zip.

0.20g BBs are almost as bad as using 0.12g BBs outdoors, they fly everywhere after 50ft or so, and have zero penetration in brush. I remember at one point my 350fps MP5 took a mag and a half to get a single hit on a guy lying prone under a cedar tree, was about 50ft away, what snagged up the BBs most was a bunch of 2ft high dead grass about 5ft away from him, in between him and myself. Since I've gone 100% 0.25g, I've never had a problem with penetration, and have actually had to practice more trigger control (where I'd have to fire 10-12 0.20g BBs through brush to hit a guy not far away, I'd be seriously overshooting him and hitting him literally with every BB of 0.25g.)

Incidentally, I rarely use anything lighter in my KSC Glock 19s, than 0.30g BBs. I've even run 0.43g with outstanding results, even out to 130ft away.
