Changed Gears in a TM G3

Hi,

Recently I put CA High Torque up gears in my friends TM G3 PSG-1. The gun was shooting perfectly in single fire mode, then when i put it into full auto, after 30 shots the gun stopped cycling and sounded as if the motor was just spinning.

Later that day I open up the gearbox to see what went wrong, Piston was good, gears were good...nothing was the matter.

After further inspection i began to test the gearbox intact and noticed that the spur and sector gear was not moving ( could not see bevel at this point) at all but i could still hear the noise. To my surprize the noise was the motor and was not connecting with the bevel gear at all but actually was chopping up the entry point of where it enters the gearbox.

My question is, do CA gears work with a TM motor gear head? Should i put less pressure on the motor to pull it out of the gearbox more ( I actually pushed harder on the motor to try and connect it with the bevel better, but actually got more grinding then ever.) or is there something im actually missing? maybe shimming? hight of bevel in gearbox with shims?

Need help please. and thank you.

motors have different lengths, are you sure you got the right one? short/med/long

if it is the right one, perhaps the location of the wiring is incorrect, causing poor positioning, so the pinion gear (on the motor) isn't meshing with the bevel gear.

the wires could be placed in a such a way they block the motor from seating all the way in, or too high/low (since you mentioned it grinding your gearbox - I'm assuming the interior wall). Try adjusting your motor position more. If its like the mp5 series, theres a screw on the motor plate (on the bottom of the grip) you can adjust. -=-=- the screw pushes on a cm disc that pushes the motor in/out...depending on how much you tighten/loosen.
