SL8 double feed
as the title say i am having problems with my SL8 double feeding when i shoot. It has been upgraded to shoot 400fps by the previous owner and i was wodering if any of you had any ideas as to why it would load 2 bbs per shot?
All the internals are upgraded and i am using a 9.4v 1100mah battery if that changes any thing. Thanks Jeremy

I have no clue, but you may want to state whether it is a STAR SL8 or a g36 conversion.

There could be two reasons for the double feeding. I just corrected mine.
1- The hopup system is to tight on the bb which causes the bb to stay in the hopup chamber. This would cause 2 bbs to enter the chamber and be shot out. Check this by taking out the hop up with the inner barrel. Manually place in a BB and blow it out. It should escape quite easily with little resistence. But also be able to hold the bb there. 2- The antireversal spring is damaged or is installed incorrectly this would cause 2 or more bbs to enter the hopup chamber. Check the spring for damage. |

Most double feed issues I've come across have been as a result of too much hop-up. There was a case though with a tight nozzle on a G&P but that caused mutliple feeds.
Try turning your hop-up off completely and put just a little silicone oil in the feed nozzle. Fire some rounds and see what happens. If it's ok, the re-adjust your hop-up and fire off a couple of hundred rounds to remove any excess silicone oil. Or you could just use a cleaning rod (like one from a Marui gun) to clean out the hop and barrel until it's squeaky clean.

Try TM hopup sleeve and bucking if you have aftermarket ones installed. I've had similar problem with clear Guarder sleeve and bucking.

Make sure the "inner barrel return spring" is functional. This spring is responsible for keeping the inner barrel and hop-unit flush with the mechbox.
If the barrel sits to far forward and away from the mechbox, there is enough room for 2 bb to be chambered.

i have the same problem!
I have the same problem of it double feeding. i just got it yesterday. at first it was working fine then it misfired after that it didn't shoot the bb's .I think it is the battery because it just stays in the chamber.

Try TM M16/M4 Magazine
I have the same problem with the Star magazines come with the airsoft, but problem disappeared when I used the TM M16 high cap magazines. Hope this works for you guys.

i find alot of guns double feed in semi, but theres two things not mentioned you can do as well:
1) buy a new, better tappet plate (systema) 2) sector gear clip http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper..._sector%20gear |

I used to have double feeding problems on my G36 until i installed a bevel gear with 4 anti-reversal notches rather than 2. It keeps the air seal nozzle from reversing in its cycle, which loads a BB into the hop-up chamber after each shot, which is caused by the nozzle quickly moving back (Momentum carrying it to the next cycle) and then forward (reversing). When you go to shoot again, it starts a regular cycle and chambers a second BB.
