have been searching but i can't seem to find the RPM of a CA m249 motor vs the systema turbo motor.

anyone got any helpfull links, all i had was arnies airsoft but it was under "waiting" for the CA motor.

RPM can change drastically based on the physical resistance (strength of the spring), amperage the battery is able to supply, points of resistance (such as those useless mini connectors), etc.

I read somewhere that a TM EG1000 motor can achieve 25 000rpm or something like that with no load when you just plug the battery into the motor directly. Also if you are using mini packs just forget about it. You need to get up to at least 3800-4000mAh before you are actually supplying the motor with near its maximum amperage draw. Also some motors have more torque so the rpm will decrease less with more powerful springs than another motor. So two motors with say 20 000rpm unloaded, one could go down to 5000rpm when loaded and the other 7500rpm (pulled these numbers out of the air, no idea what motors do inside airsoft guns.)

Standard ratio gears with a 9.6V 4200mAh pack and a SystemA turbo motor meant an Ms100 spring (350fps) was too slow returning the piston to battery so the gears engaged the piston before it was all the way forward and stripped the piston and tore a couple teeth off the gears. Installed HurricanE highspeed gears, an Ms110 spring (380fps), and the gun now shoots somewhere just below 50 rounds/second.

would u recommend a m120 with the turbo?

what about the stock gears for the CA m249? do you think they'll last?

The turbo should be fine with an M120 but have you considered the red magnum motor? It delivers a much higher rate of fire than any stock motor from any company I know of and has the torque to not slow down as much with the load of an M120 spring. With an M120 the stock CA gears will break down eventually and strip, that or the piston will go. You could get torque up gears and a turbo motor for high rate of fire and enough torque to not break anything with the M120.

Just my $0.02, I have no experience with CA249's or M120 setups (I use tightbores and airseal nozzles to get 400fps from M110's but a tightbore will kinda defeat the purpose of a support weapon.)

Lutnit: So the systema turbo won't work well (or may not work at all) with say a intellect 1400 mini with 8 2/3A batterie? stock m100 spring, no other mechbox upgrades. thanks.

It will work but you wont be getting the maximum speed its able to provide. Those mini packs can often only provide around 20A at most, large packs 40-50A. Don't know exactly what it draws but there is a massive speed boost between the same setup with a mini and a large pack. But the lower speed should be good if you only have an M100 in there. I wanted my gun to be for CQB but I can't get the piston to move fast enough without at least an M110.

you know what, i do own a magnum motor (long) that im not using. The m249 uses short motors. I'll probably cut down the shank and put the pinion gear closer to the motor.

has anyone done this? i think this will save me some cash

How are you going to cut it though. That shaft is very slippery to a fine toothed saw. Also yo have to be careful not to bend the shaft. Maybe a hobby shop could do it for you at a nominal cost?

ok i hooked it all up together and... well its not as quick as i hoped it to be

magnum motor
systema 120, and tried 110, not much difference in speed (oh i love the quick spring change)
9.6 3300mah

should i try a 10v?
