kalnaren already told you what to do. I've worked on a G36c and that's exactly what you need to do.

1. push the hop-up assembly in slightly, toward the FRONT of the assembly. 2. rotate 90 degrees (clockwise I think -if it doesn't turn clockwise, try the other way). 3. pull barrel/hopup out. 4. Remove plastic retainer clip. 5. slide barrel out of hopup assembly. You kindof did step 4 before steps 1, 2, and 3. Doesn't work that way bud. It's not that hard. It only comes out one way (and easily at that if you do it correctly). If you have to force something, you're doing it wrong.

Alright I got it. Sorry when I first looked at your post I didn't understand it. Now I have the barrel out, so what do I need to do to actually fix my hop up? I readjusted the rubber and it looked ok to me. I'm trying to re-assemble but I don't know where to put the brass ring and the retainer clip. Thanks again for the help guys.

Brass ring goes on the barrel between the barrel and the edge of the hopup to stabilize it. C-clip goes where....the only place it can go?

Don't forget to put that little black piece under the hop-up arm ontop of the bucking. The "little black piece" is the one on the far left of your hand. The bucking is that very, very small round plastic piece (looks like a piece of wire insulation) that pushes into the hopup rubber. If you didn't notice it when you took the hop-up apart, good bet you lost it. Also, make sure you put the hop-up rubber back on rightside up. It has a groove that fits into the groove on the barrel.
And a tip -Don't ever dissassemble anything if you can't get it back together. Make a good mental picture, draw it or write it down if you have too. Man I hope you don't open a mechbox for a while.

I can see the bucking when I look into the hop up. I have the "little black piece" back in it's position on top of the bucking. What is supposed to happen with the bucking when I turn the wheel? I looked at it and it doesn't appear to move. Is it supposed to rotate?
The rubber is that sleeve that goes over the barrel, correct? I just put the brass ring on that to keep the hop up steady. It looks like the bucking never actually fell out of the hop up then when I took it apart. Do you think it needs replaced? |
