Which stock wiring?

ok i posted this question on a dif forum and it hasnt been answered in days
i know this is off evike but oh well. ehobby only has the d-boys v3's with the stupid front fuse and im not messing with ebaybanned anymore after never getting my last two orders. and i need a complete ak specific gearbox thats reasonably priced

so... what kind of stock wiring does this need? is that a din connector? if i buy this gearbox it looks like im going to need to buy a stock wire to go with it and ill need one that ends in a large tamiya connector

I believe there is a tutoral about mechboxes.
If you're planning to buy this for your Kraken, there really is no point of doing so.

Wiring? You really don't need to wire anything. If it's shot on wires, splice them, add in new ones, solder them and then shrink tube on.
As for connectors, you would need to buy them, and connect them on yourself. ( You Local Hobby Stores)


What's a "din connector"?

If you're reffering to a DEAN CONNECTOR, than there is google for you.


Here's a comparison of the connectors. Red is the deans. Tamiya is white.

If you need the Tamiya connectors, then you would have to buy those too.
Why ask what a Deans connector when you do not need one?

Simple questions like those can be found on Google.

no dude. you see the where the wire on the gearbox ends? theres the two flat silver plug things.
im looking for what wire plugs into that for stock wiring that would have a large tamiya at the other end

something like this but longer probly and with a large tamiya. but i dunno if its the right kind of plug. evikes calling it a "din" but it looks like the deans that you just posted. evike apparently has it wrong

im not looking to do any "wiring" like splicing and crap. i just simply want a wire that plugs into that one

They call it a "DIN" because Dean's is a registred trade mark and they only sell a cheap china made copy of the real Dean's ULTRA connectors.

If you see ULTRA2, they are china crap too.

You will have to make your own wires. Go to an electronics surplus store or hobbyshop and buy some 16ga wires. Cut the wires about 1" from the mechbox and splice them in. Then solder and heat shrink a tube over it.

The only other possibility is to buy a complete switch harnest, and you would have to open the mechbox to install it.

The Dean's ULTRA are a bit larger than the Micro 4R that Hitman posted. If you are in cramped space, they can fit better. But most people are using either mini-tamiya, large-tamiya or Dean's ULTRA. It might be an issue if your battery dies on the field.

crap. well ive had my dad splice some stock wiring in a couple of other aegs. i just didnt wanna have that done again since i dont fully trust it. but looks like thats what ill have to do

hed been using these red crimp things to splice the wires where hed just stick the wires in each end and crimp it down with a pair of pliars. i dont like it cuz sometimes the wires just fall out but its all we have around here.
i suppose i could just buy a stock wire with a large tamiya on the battery end and cut the other end off and have him splice it to the gearboxes wires

seems dumb that theyd make the gearboxes wiring end in that odd little connector when every other gearbox i have and have seen ends in a mini tamiya

Learn to solder, mate. It's not as hard as it looks, and it's worth the investment in time and effort.

i think his way will suit me just fine after i wrap his job up tightly in electrical tape. he will have it done in like 5 minutes. plus i just got him a new pack of his wire crimps a few weeks ago so its more cost effective to use what resources we already have
