Red face accuracy?

How accurate are air soft guns? I read some where 30ft? I am curious as a PBer(most likey ex PBer heheh!) I found that my BT 4 was really quite off the mark. How far will the BB's travel before the accuracy drops out? And what levels of wind will send the BB off target? Thanks in advance!

P.S. I am willing to meet any age verifier, anytime, once my car is repaired any day now...PM me back, I'd like to scan over the for sale section, while I'm waiting for my back to heal from a car crash on Sunday ...%100 other drivers fault!

100 feet is a pretty good average between the various brands, barrel lengths and so on.

Any wind is a problem. Same for real bullets, but the BBs are slower and lighter so a breeze is going to push them around.

Old hat time, first and only time I played paintball I was appalled at the poor accuracy. Airsoft isn't ideal but it's good enough.

I've done both and airsoft is seemingly much more accurate- distance also seems longer with airsoft but I always had crap markers so it might have just be me and my gear lol. Certainly BBs go through twigs better than paintballs which just seem to turn into splatterballs every time.

bit of a drive 5 hour drive to here but the AV rep 'Hawk' for this area is top notch at showing up when needed

Paintball range is about 75fts. Acuracy, depending on the gun and paint, is about 50fts at most.

Airsoft standard range is about 100fts to 125fts depending on fps and weight of BBs. Snipers can be acurate enough at 300fts.

Standard acuracy is at 100fts where you can hit a lamp post consistently. Snipers are acurate enough to hit a man size target at 300fts depending on wind condition, rifle, BBs and a lot on the shooter.

I play as a sniper 95% of the time outside, most of my engagements are at 150fts in the wood. I'd say that for every BB I fire, I get a hit 1/3 of the time. In closer range, 100% of the time. The 1/3 acuracy is due to my M24 aging and needing some tweeking. When my L96 come operationnal, I'll send the M24 to be re-tweeked.

Heavy BBs (.28s) and a good-consistant hop-up, you can put all the rounds onto a dinner plate at 40 yards (120 feet).
I'd had single-shot hits on players out to 50-60 yards with an AEG, but those are pretty damn rare.
Cheers,
Grant

P.S. White_Knight is the guy for AV'ing in the Victoria Region. SIR are awesome guys to game with, your in a good place for this sport.

I've been hit by pistols often at 100ft - (one of the locals uses 2 pistols 50% of the time and is killer accurate with those)

ditto to what grantmac said; SIR seems to run plenty of good events

Hehe, I got a ~140ft kill using my KSC G19 a few years back, was pretty easy, very much my knowing how to shoot the gun right, how it performed as far as impact point goes............. and my using 0.36g BBs. I took four fast shots just because of the distance, not sure how many hit him but I'd say maybe two. Funniest part about that day, I was up on a hill and still using my G19 (my MP5SD was dusty and jammed up), there were four guys down the hill beside a big sand pile, I decided to fire off a half dozen rounds at them, knowing full well the 250ft distance was extremely wishful thinking for a pistol, especially with the decent cross wind............... they started acting like there were BBs landing around them and ran for cover behind the sand pile. I doubt I was even close, likely they just saw and heard me shooting a GBB at them and panicked. Dunno.

My sniper rifle will reach out and touch people out at 60 meters, I need to pace it out the get the exact range, but it's 100% accurate out as far as the BB can go. I've also made a kill from 40 meters with a 25km/h crosswind, try doing THAT in paintball!
