As do I, but you understand my reasoning (as I press on others) why a sniper rifle should never be considered a primary. Anything but should be the primary. If I get into a situation where I get ambushed, yes I'll GTFO too, but will return fire as needed, and las thing anyone wants to do is fire back with a high powered single shot weapon without any useful fast sights. Hence my saying no sniper rifle should be considered a primary regardless of role.

I am not in the best of shape, so humping a full size gun through the bush is more challenging than I would like. For that reason, if I find myself needing to go 'hunting', I will go with pistol only. It allows me to be more manuverable and quicker than I would be otherwise. I have a high quality GBB that shoots 350+ with .2's. This year I will be running it with .3's for extra accuracy. I normally carry around one hundred rounds for it, so I don't tend to run out in a regular length skirmish. SMG's are a different matter: there, I carry around three hundred rounds. More than that and the weight of the mags becomes quite onerous (at least for an old guy with a heart condition! )

My pistol shoots better and more reliably than my AEG. I also don't have to dick around with batteries.
My entire team is currently phasing out all electronic guns. Going GBBP and GBBR all the way.

I haven't used my pistol yet as a primary but i have used my mp5k in a field game and i surprisingly got a lot of kills. It was actually a fun experience for me and i gained valuable experience that you have to adapt to your weapon in order to use it properly. The only problem is see with a pistol is that you have limited ammo and you have to get pretty close in order to get some clean hits. It shouldn't matter what people say as long as its fun.

On a number of occasions I have gotten board with using whatever AEG I was using at the time, so I would set that down and run around using the TM NBB SOCOM with the silencer with a few mags running on green gas. That pistol is just as capable as most any AEG and is twice as satisfying to get kills with. As I have said for many years; It's the man, not the machine.

But I have seen a guy field two rubber knives as his primary for a skirmish I do believe he managed stay alive throughout the whole thing, and killed a good chunk of the opposing team.

Mind you because its entirely CQB, the pistol rule. When running pistols only in a large outdoor venue, you really have to pick your fights or be like a ninja.

My rubber knife is my primary, my other rubber knife is my secondary. I carry a pistol as a tertiary and another rubber knife as a backup.

I actually just made a switch over to a pair of pistols as my primaries outdoors... I went with a pair of TM hardkick DE's ... alot of the other players and I made fun comments back and forth in the staging area, as they and alot of people beleive them to be very excessive for a pistol. Now personally if all it ever saw was the ground and was dead weight against my leg or vest I would agree. but geee when they start clacking away they sure run fast!
that being said.. having a good reliable AEG waiting just in case of cold/failure/frustration is paramount too

I wonder, is throwing the knives illegal? That would make the game very interesting.

If someone is within a reasonable distance...say 10 feet...you could underhand toss your rubber knife...although I find it more satisfying to close the gap and go for the gold.
