According to ehobby, they are low noise, high torque; w/e that means in real world performance is anyone's guess.

Lemme reiterate myself here --

Despite Amos's silliness. He means what he means, they're shit. There is no reason why you should cheap out on something that is supposed to handle the strain on the internals of an airsoft gun.
Pay well, shoot well. Think of the puppies and kittens ;( |

These are the SHS employees in charge of making the gears. But in all seriousness, they're awful. Stay away. |

Do u have any specific examples of SHS gears awfulness? I bought a set of 13:1 gears for my E1 P90 and I can't for the life of me get the gearbox to cycle. I don't know if it has more to do with the gears or the gearbox version or Chinese tolerances of said gearboxes. Then again, I hear some Guarder gears have this issue too.

Yeah there's a slight clicking, but the gears are jammed up against one another so tightly that the never cycle.

SHS gears
Just incase anyones interested, I own several sets of shs gears, 13.1,18.1 and 100:300. All sets work great and with a proper shim job are very quite indeed. The 13:1 gears are silent but not much good for anything over a m100. The 18:1 are great, i've put about 10k rounds through with a PDI 150% and the are still perfect. The 100:300 are triple torque helicals, they are very hard to shim right but when you get it they are pretty good. They will pull a m150 like its not even there. They work very well with an 11.1v li-po, I get around 19-20rps, pretty much the same as the standard ratio gears(18.1) with a 9.6v ni-mh. I've had element gears as well and I can tell you that they are nothing like the shs gears, they are crap, even with perfect shimming they are loud but I've never broken a set yet so take that as you will. I've broken my original G&G gears(500rounds), my classic army set(5K) but the shs are still going strong, very nice gears in my opinion, I've never owned any high end gears so I can't compaire

I own SHS 300:100 and they show no signs of wear after 20000+bb! Great gears for the price!

I used to bash SHS, 5kU, SUPERshooter, and all those related ACM junk brands (and i still do). In absolute bargain setups they get the job done. But when it breaks you regret not spending money on a good set of gears.m If you are not pulling <M150 AEG springs then they are sufficient. But if you are looking for a hardball gun that is not disposable there is really only 1 or 2 options.
