Actually, for paintball you do have 3 options for woodsball or scenario tournaments: the SPPL (scenario paintball player's league), UWL (ultimate woodsball league) or Tac5 scenario series..
Not to mention numerous smaller leagues that do woodsball tournaments both out east and out west.
You can now rig up a Tiberius T9 or T4 rifle to shoot specific rounds that can 'reach out and touch someone', but a lot of fields do not allow them for insurance reasons.
Sniping in paintball can be done, but just like airsoft, be prepared to get a crapload of ammo shot back at you!

Not my video (picked this one because of the cactus), close to a 100 players out in the field here. Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton, Salmon Arm, all meet up here in the fall.

Come spring there's usually at least one big scenario game somewhere.
