Oh yea, I was considering a type 97 but the lack of trigger guard/grip and awkward mag well+stanmag turned me off that rifle. Plus, even the QBZ-95 have already been phased out by the new QBZ-95G. It's got a lower carrying handle so soldiers won't have to expose as much head to aim, the fire selector was moved from the stock to the pistol grip (YES!!!), a standard picitinny rail was included, and the trigger guard's shape was redesigned. If anything, I'd rather have the QBU-88 sniper which was much better engineered from the get go. But god knows when it will come out, if ever... *cries* And about the Type 56-2, the stock just looks, well, plain ugly in my opinion... It looks like it has an extra pistol grip on the butt of the rifle *laughs* Last edited by Cifyra; January 19th, 2011 at 21:30.. |

Realsword is never going to do a current issue PLA weapon I believe they got in trouble for the type 95 lower receiver. I've only seen RS SVDs in country for 1Grand so start saving cash.

Oh yea, I was thinking if a semi-auto-> full auto conversion is possible with AEGs, along with GBBRs... I know you can convert a real semi-auto Type 56 for civilian export to full-auto with the use of a twist tie. |

well mby with a systema u could but....NO u rly dont want to do this its just silly!
ok here is what I see....you are really confused on if you want a sniper or AR....get an AR and if you get an AK for Armalite model you can easily make a DMR out of it.....no more of this paintball trigger tapping shit there is a spool up delay in the gearbox, so yes there is a significant delay between when you pull the trigger and when the gun spits out the white thing....if you have a high torque gear set up, a softer spring and a high voltage battery you can minimize this..... systemas are also very good for trigger response.

ack just get a JG SVD or a SVD conversion kit for AKs you will have full auto, semi and cut the barrel without braking the bank.

i really think you should do a little more research into how AEGs work... it seems as if your knowledge of real weapons is fine but you dont seem to know fully how an AEG works...not saying you need to know everything but you should educate yourself a little more before you make a huge investment like that

Also, I don't think its silly, I mean being able to tap 2 rounds is highly advantageous unless there's something I'm missing here regarding the mechanics... And I wouldn't exactlly call myself confused as to whether or not I'd want a sniper or an AR... I just want a DMR, something in-between a sniper and AR. Maybe just ignorant as to how airsoft battles run due to inexperience, but I think I know what I want... Quote:
I mean, to be honest I'm still months or even years away from actually being able to buy a $1200 rifle. I would definitely have a better idea when that time comes. This is just a starting point for me to ask general questions for now. Do you know if JG SVDs are accurate straight out of the box? or would I have to upgrade it to get RS SVD's performance? Because I heard upgrades often cost hundreds of dollars... And conversion kits... mehhh... |

They are overlapping, making it 129 centimeters long. And with a real SVD, I doubt it'd get any easier...

i dont think anything SVD will ever come to close to a RS....they are fantastic. A RS SVD is not a DMR but I have seen many M16s turned into dmrs but it is a lot of work because of the stress the heavy springs cause on the mechox, this usually means all reinforced internals as well as a full metal body which can get pricy

Edit: I also found out while researching that GBBR and GBB pistols could be modified to full auto by filing a part down, but it's not recommended since some parts wear out faster. Last edited by Cifyra; January 19th, 2011 at 23:06.. |

RS SVDs are good the way they are....back to square one
if you get one and mod it like u want to I will find you kill you and kindly return the gun to its natural state and release it into the wild...

Haha... I thought it's getting a gun that suits the user's needs, not the other way around... I mean, we domesticate horses and dogs for our own selfish needs, why not do the same with an AEG? :> Anyways, being the curious dude that I am, by the time I would've owned an RS SVD stock for around a year, I would probably know it inside-out. And since I won't be planning on buying anymore AEGs, I would probably play with its internals here or there...
