I bought the CYMA electric AK drum mag and it works and fits the Echo1 LMG just fine.
I also bought a CYMA AK47 metal 150 round mid-cap magazine (C.71) and it will not fit the Echo 1 LMG but it will fit my CYMA AK47 just fine. Does anyone know from experience which AK magazines will fit the Echo1 LMG?

I run CYMA RPK midcaps fine in mine.

Even then, I think real MG36 are frowned because people will associate it with said assault rifle with uber mag. |

CYMA RPK hi-caps, CYMA RPK mid-caps and CYMA AK47 hi-caps (one that comes with a CYMA AK47) all work fine, it is just the 150 round CYMA AK47 mid-cap (c.71) that does not fit.
I am thinking since I only have one mid-cap between my CYMA AK and Echo 1 LMG I will try different AK mid-caps to see which fits the Echo 1 LMG, as I can always use them for my AK if they don't fit the Echo 1 LMG. I will post my results which should take about a month. @ Pestobanana, I know for Nightfall 2 they allow MG36s as long as it is a genuine MG36. Also another question for those using the Echo 1 LMG, what battery are you using?

Quick update:
I filed the top edges on either side which stick out on the CYMA 150 round mid-cap AK magazine (c.71) and now it fits. CYMA 150 round AKM brown magazines (c.89) work great with the Echo1 LMG

Passable? The only thing I'm missing is the H&K bipod, I haven't gotten one yet.

Cmon, that bipod is easy to find... and it's the important part!
A MG36 is really just a G36 with bipod and "heavy barrel" I managed to find info from some German guy that handled one of the prototypes. It's only marginally larger (150g heavier only), and it is larger only up to the gas piston... So about 4". If you want a "cheap" bipod, the one from WE is very sturdy. Especially compared to STAR/ARES or chinese clone bipods. Only downside is you can only buy it from the "G39E" conversion kit, with handguard and stock.

Sorry for jacking the thread guys
So the barrel is 4" longer? I'll just dig up my SCAR barrel extension then. I'm in the process of getting a bipod, in negotiations right now. |
April 25th, 2013, 01:58 | #26 |
No, the barrel is the same exact lenght. The portion between the receiver and gas piston is rouglty 30% larger in diameter... that is 150g extra weight, and a whole new set of tools to forge. That is the reason why H&K decided not to produce the "MG36" as a stand alone model. It was not cost-effective for the improvement that the heavier barrel gave.

Okay makes sense, I just put the extension on my G36 and it looked kinda retarded IMO. I'll pickup a bipod soon, thanks.

UGH I hate you people. The LMG36 is about as real as the LMG11.
Only ever made in prototype, and it's never been issued to anyone ever. Not even the Bundeswehr. It got rejected in 1995, and any pictures you see of any German soldiers with an "LMG36" is actually just a G36 with a Cmag. http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Heckler_%2..._.26_Koch_MG36 |
