By "click but no firing" I mean I pull the trigger, there is a click and then nothing happens.

I don't live anywhere near the GTO so I'm not sure what if any gundocs are around there, but keep in mind that if there's not one within driving distance then you'll have to add shipping charges both ways on top of that $60 + parts.

No they don't, neither does oil for a car, but its an essential service that the equipment requires.
Your not paying for not only the parts, your paying for the knowledge that you lack to service your equipment that it requires. Some charge more than others. I would pay $80-100 for someone to "tune up" my gun. Make sure you have a good air seal on all the parts, gears are shimming properly. Motor height adjustment, properly lubricated, ect. But I know how to do all that, not as well as some others, but I do have that knowledge. That's what your paying for. Quote:
No, these are people and places that are there to run a BUSINESS NOT A CHARITY. Some people do it for charity which is great, some do it for beer or for money doesn't make them a douche. I don't see why you see it as an issue, when you don't know how to do something or you can't, there is a cost to that information or service, sometimes that cost is money, sometimes it isn't. And yeah not all low charging gun docs are idiots, but I know there are some guys that charge like up to 50 an hour but don't really know their shit well enough to charge that much. |

Well it's up to you to thoose the gun doc you want. You might want to ask others fellow if they had good service.
Like you choose a garage to repair your car. If the price seems to high for your wallet maby you shoud try to do it by yourself with tutorials on the net and if you fail to fix it then send it to a gun doc as long as you do not makit worst.

My current gun is a Jing Gong G36C.
I'm going to try and field strip it first, if possible...

Argh....I'm so f***ing dumb....
I went and googled the procedre for field stripping a G36C and I notice that the wires have a fuse between them. I look at my gun and realize that I didn't have one. Then I remember that when I first got the gun, something had popped out and I couldn't find it. It seemed to work fine, so I forgot about it. I think that I just put the connectors on top of each other instead of connecting them with the fuse. FACEPALM...x100000...

The fuse shouldn't matter, I don't use a fuse in my G36, or any of my guns for that matter.
Changing the trigger assembly is fairly simple, you should try it yourself. Since you're in the GTA and obviously need some help, I recently replaced the trigger assembly on my CA G36 because the contacts burnt out after a few years. If you want, I can give you detailed instructions, or if you want to drive to my house with your stuff before the 4th, I can do it for you for free as long as you bring a trigger assembly.
