Despite all the valid and reasonable points in this thread the price disparity is still ridiculous but that's how it is. You will have the same price levels until there is enough volume supply and demand, competition to justify lower prices.

US companies are not responsible if the gun is seized you have no recourse.
Gun gone Money gone and it happens all the time to people who are willing to risk $400 to save $100

Same reason an ounce of pot cost $500 in NYC. Or that a hooker will only run you 100 pesos in Mexico.

When all is said and done, if you're serious about the hobby, have done your research, and have a mature, long term view on things then you can certainly afford another $200-300. There is a huge, huge spectrum of costs to the overall picture of airsoft.
It's important to have some perspective... Here's how I see it: |

Let's put it this way. I've made a couple of orders, every one of them were opened at the border, yet, I've received them all with a couple of extra days tacked on to shipping. I'm NOT going to name the companies as I do believe in the AV system we have and I'm not about to help circumvent that. They do exist however and even without an import license I can walk them across the border IF I have the proper paperwork.

No one is forcing you to buy from Canadian retailers, just giving you their experience so you won't make the same mistakes. Say it's $700 for the gun you want in Canada and $300 in the US. It would cost $800ish shipped, taxed and it comes to your door within a couple weeks. Or you could spend $400 from the US with shipping, wait a month, get blacklisted, lose the gun and still have to spend $800 to get in Canada.
I'm not really a great example of this because I'm still new, but this is what I've seen from months of reading on this forum. |

I am not the one that brought that caparaison and i think it is absolutely not the same situation.
And on top of that i juste wanted to be sure that the price i am going to pay is just "right". Thats my point Quote:

Like Brian said, sometimes they just charge what they know they can get away with.
The very first CA249 MKII in manitoba sold for $600, and the guy who bought it thought the price was high at the time. What happened between then and later when the CA249s were selling for $1200? Well I know the answer, but it wasn't anything legitimately increasing the cost for the importer lol |
