Actually in some of the ICS guns it makes a HUGE difference. It help's stabilize the inner barrel in the too-wide outer barrel. Without it, the IB would move around more freely causing great inconsistency >.<

Do you have an ICS? I do.
The new single-piece barrels have it... and the place for it is cut from the tip of the barrel. On older 3-pieces barrels, it was sometimes present. And again, it was cut from the tip. I removed it from my current rifle because it was bending the inner instead of stabilise it. |
