What is the preferred spring that could be effective both in CQB and Field. Just to avoid switching springs multiple times. Also to avoid losing gearbox parts in the process.

Another option is to rear wire it and get a crane stock.

Can I rear wire it without getting a new gearbox?

This can be done easily, but could be a bit tricky it's your first time working on an AEG.

If you decide to go through with it, it will make your life a bit easier. The front-wiring on this gun is a bit annoying since you have to always keep the entire upper close to the gearbox when you're working on it.

M100 would be the one...but only if it gives you an FPS under 350.

For a gun to be effective outdoors, however, it does not need to have a higher FPS. You can have a gun shooting 320 FPS and still be more accurate and longer range than most guns shooting 400 FPS. In this case, having a good hop-up is very important.

I read some posts that I can buy RIS handguards for it to fit the battery. King Arms CASV are pretty much sold out everywhere so looking into the A.C.M. one. I can import Rails systems right?

Someone should seriously write a good review of this gun.. we get like 2 threads a week asking about it.

G&P Makes something similar to the CASV rail called the "RAS II long version handguard kit". See if you can find something like that anywhere if you want that look. Otherwise a lot of people are going with the Madbull/Daniel Defense Lite rails (freefloat) or the Omega rails (delta ring mounted). Either that or if you want to be a bit different get a MRE rail which I think looks sexy if you want a SOPMOD-ish M4.

hmm, i might be able to do that.. I just got home with one. First think I did was strip it completely down and make a list of components to upgrade to make it into the CQB death machine I have in mind..

I will say though, I am impressed with the quality. The metal parts are nice (and plentiful), the functioning bolt catch is a nice touch (not as satisfying as on my gas gun but oh well). Crane stock has some wobble to it but you could probably fix that easily enough.

Most of the internals seem pretty darn good. The first thing I did was chrono it, and it was shooting 425 ootb. I hooked up my 11.1 to it and the response was incredible.. At 425 I was getting about 20 bps. Was not expecting that O.o

If you wanted a decent all around game gun I'd replace the spring of course, the spring guide (cheap plastic with no ball bearing seat) and that's about it..

For the G&P RAS does it fit a nimh battery? My alternitive is to buy a rear wired trigger mechanism. Not sure if its the right one from the video in mechbox.com where he replaces the front wire trigger to a rear wire trigger ---> http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_u...?v=pWoAmVCLk5U
