They're a clone of the CA so I'm assuming yes. I'll know soon as I'm building a spare CA based Mechbox for his 249 for field swaps should one go down (yes, they are that easy to change!)

Double Tapper:
i dont know if its version 6 or not, however i doubt it as version 6 doesnt allow the spring to be removed via a "cap" from the back of the mechbox, v6 requires the whole box dissassembled to change out the spring. This is why i was surprised when you said v6, no critisizm intended

Also, is the box mag a sound controlled? or does it require a pressure switch to autofeed?

I also assume the MK1 version (skeleton stock or C9 Style) has the battery wired to the handguard, and is the handguard interchangable with the Para Handguard (as i like the look and feel of that better)

I took a look at moding it so the battery could go into mag box and it would be next to impossible. The battery would fit no problem into it,in fact theres to much room and your battery would flop around. This AEG is a side feed and not a bottom so it's just not feasible. You would have to run the wiring up through the second spring from the mag box to the reciever, which would entail modifying the feed clip. Then you would have to try and feed the wiring round the mech box and there just isn't any room IMO..Also its all open in the mag box so if battery runs out and you still have BB's in it then poppin off the the mag lid to change out batteries is gonna b a hassle. It takes no time in swappin out batteries in the location it is now in my IMO just leave it where it is.

Also I've seen a lot of talk bout what size battery this will take. A LARGE TYPE WILL FIT albeit it real snug..I run a 9.6 3300mah large in mine. I've also used a 9.6 2200mah nunchuck with no problems at all.

I figured I'd give you all a little update in terms of durability. I did a crapload of shooting with it over the weekend - about 5000 rounds. Still working nice and smooth. Although one of these days, I'm going to crack the mechbox open to check for any wear, lube problems, etc, since the gun is totally stock and has never been opened...

The box mag has 2 modes, consinuous feed (to initially wind up the mag), and sound activation for use while shooting. Works flawlessly.

I tried to fit an 8.4V large battery and I couldn't get it in my stock. Maybe I just didn't 'work it' enough to get it in there too, but my initial attempt was a failiure. I'm actually considering rewiting it to the front. I know I can't easily fit an 8.4V larger battery in the lower hand guard, and maybe even be able to fit a 9.6V in there. I'd love to throw in one of my 9.6V 3800 mAh batteries in there.

I like it very much. Even if I never field it (although I'd like to), I always wanted one for my collection. We both ended up with that we wanted with this trade. Thanks again.

Yeah, my son loves Starcraft. You can hear either Starcraft, Dawn of War, or Star Wars: Empire at War in the background of pretty much any video I shoot at home... And occasionally, a bit of Counterstrike: Source or Team Fortress 2.

Updated the original review to include the work I did on the gun today. Man, I love shooting this gun and I love how easy it is to work on. I'm even happier with my purchase now.
