I wasn't talking about the hopup rubber , but the little nub under the hop lever, that pushes down in the slot on the bump. Mine seemed very soft and didn't seem to work very well. The mod looks good and I will test it in about 15 minutes.

That looks about right to me, but I will defer to more experience.

Place a BB in the barrel. If t falls right throught, there is a big problem. Either assembly or missing part.

If not, take a small rod or even your cleaning rod and push on the bb to make it pass the bump. It should not be VERY hard, but you need some pressure to make it through. If that is the case, your nozzle might just push the BB too far and past the bump when loading it.

I don't know if you understand, but anyways. I did that trick to find why I have repetitive jams in my L96. Found that it was bad BB quality, but anyways.

*edit* That rubber should be ok. The Prometheus hard type is for 450+ rifles. I used that in my L96, shooting from 450 to 700 fps. At 450, the hop-up was set a hair from zero.
thanks, i do understand, and there is a good change of range while i adjust the hopup from nothing to max

uuuuugh.. now another thing. (this is not the same view, this is where the BB's feed from the magazine)

is this a problem or normal? when i drop a BB in, it sits on the rubber, i give it a little push so it drops completely in..

well I am having multiple feed problems now. I can put a BB in the barrel and it won't fall out, but it will not fire first shot, second shot 2 or 3 BBs come out. Then next shot nothing , folowed by 2 or three again.

When you set the hop-up to zero, do it still cause problems (2-3 shotgun effect)?

You can try to move the inner/rubber a little bit around to make it set to the right place. It worked for a problematic G36C I had to work on.

Yeah I already got it apart and inspecting everything. I will put the old piece in and see if it still does it. It was firing fine before, I didn't change the hopup just changed that teenie tiny litle rubber nub, to one a bit firmer. It gave a nice bump, whereas the original nub seemed to hardly make one at all. Just going t reassemble now. I am glad this gun is quick and easy to open up and close. CA HK53A2
EDIT-- Gun is back together and firing fine, It is dark out so range testing for distance and accuracy is out, for tonight anyway. But feed problem is fixed, and it is shooting as good as it was before the barrel change. So all is good in the workshop. Thanks for the help fellows.

Hmmmmm, .20 seem to feed good, no problems, ran a lowcap of .28s and I get a feeding issue again, I will try .25s next. Anyone know what the reason for this is?? Do I need a harder rubber? I am also using pretty new lowcaps(fielded once.)
