I've always followed the basic rule - Treat it as your willy.

You wouldn't want people to see your willy in public right?
Nor would the police.

Keep it stored nice and in the right area, properly.

Yeah you get the idea.

Whats the deal with clear airsoft guns? Are they considered replicas? Also, I heard something about over 500 fps = firearm. I am considering a clear airsoft pistol with only 200 fps. Would a cop driving by jump on me and destroy my gun?

Unlikely. Of course, you should never be in a situation where a cop driving by could see it.

My area doesn't have fences so like inorder to "warn my neighbours" I would have to knock on at least 7 houses as our backyards are all aligned in one long strip with no fences (new houses, meh). So one of them could alert the police. When you said unlikely, you meant to them jumping me or destroying my gun?

Thanks.

Both, a cop would just pull his instead. And I highly advise you just set up a target in your basement instead of shooting outside.

I let my son play with his, but, under supervised conditions on my friend's 20 acre wooded property. Beyond that he can have it in the house with no battery in it. I am not getting my 46" Sony LCD shot out.

Both. But if someone calls them then they're going to have a talk with you at the least and tell you not to use it in public. It's possible they may take it, but since it's clear that's pretty unlikely.

You're allowed to own even all black airsoft guns, but the police take brandishing a firearm in public very seriously and will consider a black airsoft gun, or even a clear one (depending on what you're doing with it) as the same as a real gun. So if you don't even have the privacy of a fence I'd advise against firing it in your backyard. Especially since with no fences, stray bbs could go anywhere.

Definitely stick to your basement and garage where no BBs can cause damage and go astray.
