I agree. I mean shoot if you have a money tree in your backyard it does sound like a fun experiment. But I think your money would be better spent putting upgrades into your ICS.
All the best

This is a great project!

From least cost to most...do it step by step and move on if it survives.

1. Reshim (done)
2. piston mods...done already
3. battery (11.1v 2000+ 20C+ LiPo...but then you'd have to buy a good charger and balancer....or just get a big ass 9.6v 3000+mAh SubC battery)
4. You'll want a stiffer spring to keep the FPS up if you've short stroked the piston. That's for FPS. Also for returning the piston forward before the gears come back around for another shot.
5. Wiring/mosfet...16AWG....mosfet will help with your switch assembly burning out and will give you a boost in ROF
6. Big motor
7. HS gear set

- sector chip will delay the nozzle back a bit...helps with feeding since your mag will have a hard time keeping up.
- consider a powered box mag...easy to keep filled with bbs (you're going to empty a full mag really, really quick) and the power feed helps get the bbs up into position

Be prepared for it to not survive the first trigger pull once you get past a given point. A buddy of mine who does these silly things (his battery is a 11.1v 4000mAh 35C LiPo and he's using a m160/m170 spring to keep up in the high 300fps range). He's basically buying pistons, gears and parts every week.

Have fun...good luck...wear goggles....start hoarding replacement parts now.

My friends and i once put a 11.1 V lipo in a walmart m4. It was one of the kids that plays with us when he can, it was all he could afford. The thing was crazy fast and surprisingly with the plastic gears it didnt break. Though come to think of it i havent seen that gun in a long time. I think your best bet would be to run lipo if you want a cheep mod that will make your rof pretty crazy fast. I dont know how long the gun will last though, But i know it should last at least a day of use with a happy trigger finger.
