I agree. Being AVd doesn't make one all knowing all of a sudden. No offense because most of you sound very nice to convers with but some on here seem all high and mighty because they are AVd. Get of your freaking horse. There are a few of us that do lots of research and reading before we make comments or before we ask questions.

Don't buy the ICS M4 Carbine...

WEAK piston body; 2 brand new bodies failed in under 5 days of use... now using a Modify Polycarb body...

SHITTY gears, blown Sector Gear after upgrading to an ICS upgraded Upper gear box... Bevel gear failed the first time out, the metal gear that's pressed into the Bevel gear that sping the Spur gear spun out... Now using 300% torque up Gears...

SHITTY aluminum ICS piston body... *SIGH*

After a lot of upgrade parts and frustration the M4 now works like a champ... it all depends on what you're will to spend with this rifle right out of the box...

I recomend the KWA KM4A1...

Then why does this thread exist?

Had you have researched, you would've had your answers. Simply put. A lot of these members actually 'know' what they're talking about since they have most likely handled the things. Age Verification means the person has had access to guns and always will, they have handled them. People without verification have most likely handled subpar cansoft or simply shitty walmart guns, theres a huge gap there I think. So its not exactly us feeling so 'high and mighty' because we have some tag. Its because we actually own the damn things.

Sometimes, (No offense to you Koolaidman) some users can take things out of context, so don't blame the whole AV base on one persons opinion or comment. The whole 'highhorse' thing starts to reverse upon yourself. Just listen to people that have given good advice, ignore others that have been no help at all. Making comments back and forth does nothing but stir unnecessary bickering about like it is now.

Is the KWA 2nd gen M4 like this one:http://www.albertaairsoft.com/store/...id_product=177 except for the metal body? Cauz I will not pay 200$ more for a full metal body that I could careless about, if the internals are the same and all the other parts save for the body in metal (for the parts that should be in metal)

I've been in contact with Capital Airsoft (in regards to KWA) and am waiting for the new versions to come in when they do. Right now they only have the version with the upgraded 2GX gear box and 2G bucking. One thing to keep in mind though is that everything backwards compatible. If something does break you can always replace it with a new improved part.

Check out www.Mechbox.com if you would like to learn how. The site shows good step by step video tutorials of complete gearbox tear downs and rebuilds for a number of different guns and Mechbox versions. It also shows how to remove the Mechbox from the some guns(used the site myself for my M-14), very informative.

Course a gun Doc may cost money, but if something goes wrong at least you have someone to blame it on. Personally, i like tinkering so i do my own upgrades and repairs.

Hope this helps.

Got AV's the other day and am awaiting the admins to upgrade my standing here. Still looking at the KWA M4A1 and was wondering if they've given you a time frame when the new versions with one-piece barrels are going to be available? Thanks!

Thanks for the link buddy, I was doing all my repair for my paintball guns myself I was even doing some mods with Airsoft parts back in the days. So I am not scared of doing the stuff myself, just need a little lesson and I should be good to go.

in my experience airsoft guns are NOT as easy to disassemble as Pb guns. airsoft guns are pretty much like big watches with a lot of small pieces and parts that need to be put in a certain way in order to fit properly .
maybe i don't have mechanical skills at all lol

if you do something nice, show it in the media section.

ICS M4 was my first gun. I put my toys through a lot of abuse and I have had no internal problems with my gun. THe only other guns I have used are MK, Kraken, TF and Smith..... I love the ICS by far. And the internals are easy to learn so you could upgrade easily. Mechbox is very easy to get to. You can actually use different upper mechboxes with different springs so instead of changing the spring each time you want a different FPS all you need to do is change the upper mechbox which is quick to do.

ICS all the way for price

Yeah I noticed that when I watched the Mechbox vids. Way more complicated than Pb guns but still... you need to take your time and take some notes the first time as what go where.

In regards to ICS, I am getting mixed feedbacks... I don't really know what to think. A Gun doc told me that the ICS M4 are awesome (and the SRC too but more complicated for changing the spring and working in the mechbox like other AEG), a couple of other guys too but I am getting also not so good feedbacks from other people about the ICS.

Will prolly go for an HK416 SRC Gen3, it seems a really good buy. I looked in the AV retailer section and I am not ready to invest 700$ and up for an all black brand new, good quality AEG (that is selling for 350$ US) and I want something new, I don't want used stuff so... The SRC HK416 Gen 3 is selling between 300$-350$ US for only 460$ CAD and got really good reviews. I will get myself an M100 spring from airsoftparts.ca and should be ready to go for indoor CQB play

THe only thing though is that I hate to put the battery on the PEQ box on the front rail to hold the batteries. I would like to get a Lipo that can fit in the buffer tube, since they are Lipo ready. Can anybody suggest me (give me a link) a good lipo battery and a charger?

Wow we are in the same dilemma ill try to search for the ics cansofts for availability. I havent had much luck in finding src gen 3 reviews aside from the seller and the guys who just got hold of em and have an awesome moment with his new purchase.

I am not AV but back where i came from i have all ics setup. 2006 limitd edition full metal ics and a m4 ras ics. They are pretty good aegs really easy to work on. And yeah i have 2 spare upper gearboxes for different springs with different barrel lengths and mock suppressors. They are pretty customizable on that regard plus dont forget the little things like a good motor a strong gearbox( stronger than a v3) and a spring relax function.

Just throwing it out there but what about the G&G can soft M4, heard good things about them in exception to the terrible piston head.
