In Lemen's terms... WHAT IS A MOSFET??? and I don't have technical motivation to be re-wiring the GR25 lol I'd rather make it a minimal step process so I'm thinking just getting a buffer tube battery...
I found and read this http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/MOSFETS-t196370.html but I still don't quite get it... |

In simple terms , a MOSFET is a electronic board that your trigger, battery and motor is connected to. It channels the voltage from your battery to the motor and makes your trigger block contacts last forever. With a MOSFET, the trigger does not take the brunt of the current and voltage, the MOSFET does.
Right now your trigger takes all the current and voltage over time, it will pit and burn and cause other issues if you run 11.1V |

..... I need two then because I don't want to fuck up my F2000 that gun is literally my pride and joy for the sport...

If you don't run more than 9.6V, the trigger contacts will last longer. Even if they burn out, very cheap to replace, but plan on 11.1V then the use of a MOSFET out weighs the hassle needed to pull your gear box out.
Your F2000 will still be your pride and joy without a MOSFET. A MOSFET makes it more fun to shoot. The nice thing about a MOSFET, is instant response. A basic MOSFET willl get the job done. There are others that have more features but you will pay for it. Last edited by SuperHog; August 31st, 2013 at 12:10.. |

I just need something basic.. but the battery I was given for the f2000 was an 11.1v lipo.

I built all my MOSFETs for my guns. For you, since you need only two, just buy it.
I highly recommend the Extreme-Fire MOSFET. They come basic all the way up to fully programmable. http://extreme-fire.com/ |

Something you should consider buying for your Lipos. I'm also new with using Lipos and this checker makes me less worried about using them.

The PRS stock will make more sense once you have it in front of you.
You should also decide on the exact power demands of your setup and build your power system around that, keeping the physical constraints in mind. Last edited by Stealth; August 31st, 2013 at 16:13.. |

Not sure what kind of demands it would need. AFAIK just needs enough power to operate the motor and gearbox. I don't want to be pouring a ton of cash into it since it's just a hobby and I'm not planning to go pro lol. Even then, it's purely for fun, so as long as it performs reasonably well I'm happy. By that I mean decent accuracy at decent long range lmao

No problem. Good luck with your build.
Airsoft Store Canada is a great place to start. They are a great bunch of guys and have everything you'll need to pimp your gun when you're ready.

But it's a hobby, I enjoy it and I require some (read more, always more) cash to keep enjoying. Also, you never have too many airsofts, you just have too little space to store it. |

Okay, update and question... Just got the PRS stock in and it doesnt have a buffer tube. Rather, the SR25 has a built in SHORT buffer tube, maybe 4 inches long. Thunder Cactus, I turn to you lol.
