why not just take the golf cart, get a gasoline engine in it so it has some power, and restructure it to look like a half-track? Then get a good tucker turrent on top for a SAW or 60 long barrel.
I want to do two things... I want to do a dune buggy set up like they used in the first gulf war. The one with the SAW mounted for the side passenger seat and a M60 for the guy in the back. The other thing is find a hippe van, you know those Volks Wagon ones. And make an war-wangon. I really want to do a tucker turret, where you have the foot petals and it spins you around. But no one makes a Browning .50 in airsoft yet -.-. Then have mounts and slots for people to be able to fire out the back and have a SAW on the front and at the back.... but money... always money.... |

I talked to my team. We were thinking of a T55 or a APC. A halftrack would be very cool.

well, in PA (US) we made some big reinforced cardboard armor and attached it to riding mowers (it was at a more or less backyard function, friend's dad owned the land) which was iffy at best, but cheap if you have a mower handy. It was loud and unweildy, but they were fun. eventually we downgraded to tanks where two or more people would climb in and push the cardboard around like armor. It was less of a tank as a mobile firing platform, but it worked. we rigged a potatogun style rpg for a turret. Rules for disabling were varied per game.
Pros: Cheap!!, light, fairly maneuverable and variable. Nobody's tank was anyfaster then anyone elses, they all required teamwork and it could work as a troop carrier. Cons: totally lame to watch, the guys who were designated to move it didnt have a bunch of fun, and it required levels of communication that arent necessary with machinary. (you dont have to yell at your wheels to turn to their OTHER RIGHT) Also, a powerful gun at close range could give the guys inside a lousy day. |

wow that is one of the largest necros that I have ever seen. but it is a good idea to keep costs down.
at the field in penticton they had a car with no windows in it, you just had to shoot the driver and it would be out. |

yeah, totally didnt notice the date >.<
The car sounds a little dangerous to me...shooting the pilot of a 1 ton missile...probably dangerous to have such a heavy tank just for airsofting. at least if a golf cart or riding mower (no blades) hits you you can generally walk it off...does it have any limitations to the speed or where it can go? |

well the terrain of the field kind of limits how fast you can go. you would just shoot them with your airsoft gun, so they would call their hit and leave the car, not really that dangerous.
