You need to be more patient, CBSA can clear stuff in hours, or it could clear stuff in weeks. With a M4 front set in the box, you're looking at several days at the least.
As for whether a complete front set is legal to import (or perceived to be legal by the CBSA), I'd say that's definitely one of the items I'd personally be less willing to import myself. IIRC, people have successfully done it in the past, but it really is treading on a thin line as far as CBSA is concerned.

2. No, orange flashhiders mean nothing. 3. Take a chill pill, your front set will clear just fine. |

I am a UPS employee and I agree with you that UPS brokerage fees can be a beatch (even though they are going into my pocket). I personally audit packages going TO the USA and sometimes I even have to open packages if the customer did not include the paperwork outside of the box.
Most of our work involves customs and brokerage. We have to pull documents from each shipment, scan them, send the scans to customs, and organize and count all shipments plus who did the auditing and who entered each packages' info into the UPS system. It's a lot of work, and so I understand why they need to charge so much. UPS will be your brokerage company if you do not indicate who you want to use. There are lots of brokerage companies and AFAIK you cannot do your own brokerage. The big advantage to UPS is that your package arrives a lot quicker (if there are no border problems).

I got a package last week from UPS, the contents were worth about $250.00, and I thought that everything was cool, but then a few days later a UPS guy shows up at my door and says that I owe him $35.00 for COD charges.
Basically it broke down to how the other guys described it. It really sucks that you can't even protest this kind of thing too much because of the nature of the product. I guess you just have to bend over and take it because your just happy that your airsoft stuff made it to you okay. Gordo
