Plastic. I'm doing a whole bunch of external upgrades on it, new Outer barrel, new stock,
and such... but the plastic is pretty sturdy. I'm sure other receivers and work with it if they're modded properly

The G&G lines of product are a bit confusing, I know. Let me see if I can sort this out for you.

Combat Machine:
Plastic receivers, metal gearbox, lower quality metal parts (barrel, sights, etc.). I believe this is the line that CAS distributes primarily.

Regular G&G Line:
Metal/Plastic receivers (depending on model), metal gearbox, higher quality metal components than CM. There is a plastic body series under this line as well (including a blowback ver.) with the same quality metal components. The clear lower receiver versions from 007 and Mach 1 (perhaps others) come from this line.

Top Tech:
Home to their patented blowback system series (M4, 416, MP5). No clear receiver versions to be made from this line, according to Ken from 007.

So tell me I just bought a G&G GR-16 and it also has a non removeable front sight. I was kinda hopting to put on a flip up sight but if I pull it off the metal part that holds on the handguard won't be secure. First of all how are you going to remove the front sight and secondly is there a way to so this and still have the handguard "holder" in place?

You'll need to purchase a gas block to replace the front sight. There are several types available, many with a small rail on them for mounting a flip-up sight.

I'm just switching the whole front end... New Outer Barrel, new front sight, new flashider, new Handguards (includint Slip Ring and handguard cap) the non removable front sight is attached to the outer barrel... only way to fix that is to get a new Barrel

Heh yeah... For me It was all the same cuz The outer barrel on M4s are different from the C8A3 barrels...(as seen in my sig...)
Also the stock handguards don't fit the Triad
