Example: Over the radio, someone tells you "I'll go left and try and set up my sniper on their flank." Does that mean he has a sniper in his fireteam, meaning you'll have 4-5 guys on their flank including a sniper? Or is he just one guy with a sniper rifle? Anything that screws with communications on the field is a bad thing. I think most importantly, though, is it's a sign of inexperience. Nobody who has been playing this sport for long calls sniper rifles "snipers".

I wish you'd all stop calling them sniper rifles and start calling them what they are: Precision Bolt Action Rifles.

I want a sniper that can sniper a sniper with a sniper from anywhere that a sniper can sniper a sniper with a sniper!

In all seriousness you just nailed the problem with using "Sniper" to refer to sniper rifles perfectly. Well said sir.

A quick check determines that there's still plenty of room to add rifle after sniper.
The self appointed 3rd party IT department determines that the problem exists between keyboard and chair. |

Deal? Taking the above into account, it's not hard to understand someone when they simply say "Sniper;" it's just stupid.

Precision weapon/rifle or Optically scoped precision weapon.... add the word "system" at the end for a more dramatic effect But dont even think about putting the words "long range" in front of that definition cause that would be... sad.. No deal!

Jesus Christ, it's not about whether I can understand a thread or not. IT'S WRONG. It's NOT ENGLISH. Use proper english for fucksakkes, it's basic communication.

For the love of all good that's left in this world...please nuke everything after the first post in this thread...and lock it.
Why is a 5page/70+post debate about how slang is interpreted in the General section?!?! |
