After getting the screw and the retention plate on, I noticed there was space between the BBU and the slide at the stair like mating. I took the rear sight out and put the BBU back in, and it seemed to fit slightly better, but still not perfect. Should I sand the sight down or the BBU?

Omg... dude, get a proper file set. LOL. You can get some for as little as $2, and they'd work better than a Swiss Army file set. A proper file set cuts faster and smoother.

I'd do the BBU, since it's easily replaceable if you manage to really mangle it... but that ultimately depends on the specific issue and which areas are conflicting.

Welcome to the joys of GBB modding.

Pics coming up in about 5 minutes. I took as many pictures as I can. Hopefully it'll give you gracious people who are helping me a better idea of what's going on.

Here are pictures of the both the stock MEU slide, MEU BBU, Nova slide, Nova slide with BBU (without rear sight), and the Nova rear sight itself.

Is this a specific MEU kit or a 1911 kit do you know?

That BBU does look different from 1911 and Hi-Capa...

It's an M1911A1 kit.

The BBU is slightly different, but the difference should not create the issue he is describing.

Pictures are useless for issues like this. This is all done by feel and experience.

This is also why most gun doctors stay away from GBB upgrades/fixes, and why you don't see many tutorials/guides online.

BTW, this is the mod I did to my Nova slide stop for it to work properly, it works without it, just makes it a bitch to install...

And this is how I fitted my SFA kit, using a TM 1911A1 base.

Its generally sanding/polishing working surface, filing and sanding where it was interfering. With Nova on 1911 they tend to have some interference with the rear hammer plate to the BBU, and rear sight to the BBU. And of the 2 kits I built I did remove some material at the sliding surface of the BBU as it does protrude above the slide groove. But I'd recommend lots of sanding, refitting to check since you don't want to have a sloppy slide....I think you can avoid sanding the BBU if you can remove the material off the base of the sight, as you've mentioned that without the sight the BBU seems to sit fine. But for me it was easier to sand the BBU as it is softer than working on aluminum. With a mill I might do the sight instead....

Okay.

If you look at the picture I have with the NOVA rear sight in it, you'll notie that it has the two main notches that slide into the slots on the slide, and then a square one that is there to only allow the slide to slide in one way, and up to a certain point. I can remove the other piece of aluminum below that pushes on the BBU, but I don't want to remove the square piece...

I'm going to try sanding the BBU. I was a dumbfÜck for thinking I could do this with almost zero experience. But I don't regret it =)

With the help of ILLusion, I finally got my Kimber Warrior up and running. One thing I noticed immediately when I shot the first mag (10 BBs) was that the trigger would sometimes get stuck, and I would have to eject the mag, rack the slide, and the re-insert the mag before it would shoot again. Does anybody know what the problem may be?

The same thing would happen even when the mag is not in the gun. Sometimes the trigger would feel stuck and I would have to rack it an additional time before it fires properly. The trigger pull feels very smooth and works fine when the hammer is in resting position, but once its cocked that's when the problems happen and the trigger doesn't feel quite right at times.

Check the leaf spring and make sure its not bend funny...when viewed from behind the gun, I usually have the left most one bend slightly further out than stock(more positive beavertail), middle and right one should be slightly forward....the goal for me is to take up some of the slack in the sear and disconnector. There could also be some stiction in that sear disconnector thing on the right most side(one of the piece that falls out when you remove the 2 cross pins). It should not be sticky going up and down. Only do these though after you are sure your trigger is moving smoothly when everything is taken out...so far regardless what aftermarket trigger I've used I had to sand and polish them to make them work properly.

Oh man.

I'd LOVE to buy those. Are these real-steel? Or replicas? I wasn't aware the TM MEU could take real-steel sights (never looked into it before though...)
