TM Sig P226 valve knocker replacement steps?

I just broke my TM Sig P226 valve knocker.

I have ordered a replacement Shooters Design Steel Valve Knocker, but I have no idea how to replace the broken one with the new.

The valve knocker seems to be part - p226 32

Does anyone have any idea the steps required to replace the valve knocker in a TM Sig P226?

well, you pretty much have to dissassemble the entire hammer assembly, careful removing it as part 38 will go springing out assoon as you remove it from the frame,

if your valve knocker is not engaging it may be you broke your hammer spring 33

If you can't figure it out yourself, or get someone local to do it, I can fix it for you. I have experience with Sig GBB's and have replaced 2 of those valve knockers for people (because the bastards always break after a while. Your steel one won't though.)

Update:

I am still having a lot of problems with my TM Sig 226.

I have the pistol disassembled on my desk right now, but am having some trouble still.

I am having trouble removing the takedown lever.

I have been following this guide:

It says:

"To remove it the lever must be in the "up" position that it lives in when the gun is in it's normal carry position. Look for the detente. Push it towards the rear of the pistol and the takedown lever will slide out of the pistol to the left."

It doesn't seem to want to move at all...what am I doing wrong?

The problem/s seem to be in the hammer group area. Do I need to remove the trigger assembly group/area before I am able to re-assemble/put back the hammer group?

I cant remember off the top of my head, I went through the same process before with my 226 when my valve knocker broke. If memory serves, its held in by some spring loaded piece. I could be wrong though, I dont have my 226 in front of me as im at work.

You cant just "remove" it. I do remember that, there is something holding it place.

Does it move when you put it on "safe"?

When I took mine apart I needed a dental pick type tool to pry that retaining part back.

Removing the disassembly lever is not required to replace the valve knocker.

That's good news I don't have to remove the takedown lever if I am having troubles with my hammer assembly unit.

But the hard part is getting the hammer assembly back into the gun...
Any tips on that?

All I can recall about mine is it went back together no sweat. It does mention in that guide that putting the hammer and trigger groups back in together makes it easier.
