Call of Duty Short Film
Hi,
Myself and some friends are working on a Call of Duty remake. I was a producer on the Half Life Series and we are aiming for that type of production value. Here is the link: YouTube- Escape From City 17 Teaser . We are seeking volunteers (no pay) to be part of a large scale, high intensity scene set in the Modern Warfare Universe. For those familiar with the game, the scene will be a re-creation of the level 'whiskey hotel'. We are shooting around the Greater Toronto Area. Youtube reference here: YouTube- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Walkthrough - Act 3: Whiskey Hotel HD The set will be filled with both practical and CGI effects so we're looking for groups of people that can move together and know how to look the part. After filming, the project will be released online virally. This is not a For-Profit film, and all extras will receive a credit at the end of the film. Also free food and drink on set! If interested, please email us the following information: Full Name: Age: Contact Number: Email Address: Type of camo (including colouring and gear elements): Type of gun and other replicas (m16, m4a2, etc.): Name of paintball/airsoft group or person organizing: Please send this information and any photos of you and your gear to: codfilm@gmail.com **Please note we are trying to keep this project confidential** Last edited by CODFilm; May 18th, 2010 at 21:43.. |

You planning on providing recompense for services rendered? If not, is this film being made for profit? If not will the volunteers be credited in any fashion?
Cheers and good luck |

Oh? Do tell...
Seriously, this posts sounds like something that should be common knowledge, at least among those who are considering volunteering...

Is this going to be shot guerrilla style again, with airsoft guns and no permits in the streets of Toronto?

Just sent you an email regarding Audio Post (Editing, Sound Design, Mixing, etc)
Let me know if you need any. I may have moved to Aus but the internet is a wonderful thing. I'd love to work on a film from back home.

I would only sign on board if there were permits with the city to film acquired. Notification given prior to filming with TPS and written authorization from the owners/managers of the properties being used.
A viral fan film is cool, but I sure as hell am not risking jail time and legal costs for one.

It was my understanding that in the City 17 short they did not have permission from CN/ property owner/ permits to be filming in the train yard. I would strongly suggest that anyone who wants to be involved in this carefully check their permits first.
