M249 in the classifieds

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I haven't been here for a while. Anyways I'm 17 and wont be able to get age verified until next March but I just finished my Soldier Qualification in Aldershot NS and loved the c9 and I'm wondering how often an m249 pops up in the classified, preferably a mk1 for the c9 look but anything's good. And how much do they usually run for. Just curious.

Cheers

I really wish you could get your hands on a G&P, it's the closest thing you'll find to the real thing in airsoft
Usually see them once a month, but lately there's been a real lull

CA M249's are easier to find, and they're a solid SAW.

One of the suckiest things for me is that I fired the C9 before I fired an airsoft m249. The lack of recoil and the inability to keep targets suppressed from 200M away while still weighing close to the real steal is a deal breaker for me. Yeah I know my expectations are beyond unreasonable but a C9 with an optical sight is so damn FUN to shoot they should open a park where u buy your own ammo and shoot it all u want at moving pop up targets

Heard of a place called Las Vegas?

For a Milsim where you need sustained fire it's the bee's knees. It's really only worth it though if the oppostion has something similar.

an Airsoft SAW is only worth the extra weight if everyone is milsiming. Its not worth it when your lugging around something like that and some jack ass with a ak47 and a hicap can do the same thing with what... 1/4 the weight?

Most SAWs go on sale near the end of the season because everyone realizes *fuck I hate carrying that stupid thing what else should I get instead*... same seems to be for GBBRs *what? 30 round mags!? I can't spray 10 million bullets in hopes of hitting my target with a fluke?*

Well i love my saw and never selling it, especially with the lipo battery. Little over 10,000 rds with the lipo and no problems yet, rifle works like a dream. Its not that heavy....its also a A&K, so surprised at how well it works.

By AK with a drum I assume you mean an RPK, which is stupidly lightweight lol
MG36s......FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
The only REAL airsoft LMG's are the ones that weigh more than 6kg
It does come in handy in scrims, only problem, like you said, is that you'll go through a bag of ammo every scrim.....
But for big ops, oh man is it ever awesome!

And if you think not being able to hit targets at 200m sucks, I can't even imagine how frustrated real steel marksmen get lol

It's quite easy hitting stationary targets 200m downrange with a C9, espcially if you have and optical sight! :P And he meant A&K the Chinese airsoft company, not AK, the gun.

They pop up now and then. More common is that they get passed around between friends and shooting buddies. If you play regularly with a dozen guys, at least 1 if not 2-3 of the group will have a SAW (or 5 ) stashed away.

Pros for Airsoft:
- you can lay down strings of suppressing fire without looking like a tool (i.e. someone with a 500rnd M4)
- no (or fewer) mags to carry...so you can go light with rigs/gear
- they look bad ass
- fit into mil-sim themes (i.e. a SAW per squad, support elements, etc...)

Cons
- heavy (don't buy a Star one that is plastic...you'll be seriously disappointed with the feel)
- sometimes fitting a battery can be a challenge (but very doable once you figure out what's what)
- box mags tend to rattle
- regardless of how "big" the AEG is...the FPS, range and accuracy will be about the same as other AEGs. I.e. an M4 can be made to shoot similar to an M14 similar to a G36, etc... Doesn't mean that all AEGs brought to the field are tip-top (they often aren't), just that lugging a 16lbs+ SAW around might not net any difference vs. a carbine depending on the game.

For speedball-like skrims...there's not much point since the sets are over very quick and it's usually a hose fest. Guys will regularly have hicaps...which turns every AEG into a SAW....and a 20 on 20 SAW fest is pretty boring.

For more tactical skirms...they're great if you're working with a small group. You can suppress/pin someone while you're buddies move to flank...you can hold off a position...etc... While everyone is frantically reloading their mags for the next set...you're kicking back 'cause you're ready to go.

For Mil-Sims...they're awesome. A lot of mil-sims are ammo limited based on what type of gun you have (i.e. Rifleman = 300 rnds....SAW = 1000 rounds....reloading opportunities might be a long ways away). That's where SAWs really come into play. Being able to support your buddies with some sustained fire while they're picking shots is often clutch. Ten riflemen = 3000rnds....8 riflemen + 2 SAWs = 4400rnds....and 50% more total ammo is a solid advantage....especially if the rules allow for teammates to share ammo on the field.

Having it is one thing...using it is another. How much you can carry while running/hustling is up to you.

Buy metal. The A&K 249's are made of "soft" metal. Carry handles, bipods will break (some guys take them off right away to save weight and to preserve some of the resale value). The box mag is ok...but kind of shitty if you're serious about things. I prefer the smaller CA "nutsack" mags. They're affordable though if you're only pulling it out now and then.

G&P and CA SAW/LMGs are solid. Inokatsu SAW/LMGs are outstanding.

i agree on the smaller box mags.. the difference is huge, even if it holds the same number of bb's as my previous version (2500rds) the smaller size helps with manouver and shouldering (no longer have that damn box in the way of me shouldering and supporting it properly with the other arm..
