through the snipers scope.

So I have really taken to my vsr this year and I have discovered something... When people do not know you are there they do some really odd and sometimes beutiful things.

And example of both of these happened our last game. First as watching my gf from about 400 feet away move on the other side of the field like a secret againt lol. Duck spin twirl dash jump dive crouch... Funny thing she was leaving her whole side open to me... Out of range though.

The latter came later that day. While still hanging out in the same spot my spotter pointed out two shadows across the field. I check it out and its the other team talking... Well two of them. They seperate and one starts across my field of view... Just inside my range. So as I am setting up my lead on him he does something so beautiful it almost brought a tear to my eye. He turned 90deg right at me fully exposed... I am at his chest... Inhale... Sqweeze the trigger. He hears the pop of my metal piston and ducks down. Well now what used to be his chest becomes his head lol. Pang on the helmet... He yells hit and goes "who the hell hit me!" I had to bite my tongue so hard not to laugh.

So... Its story sharing time. Can't wait to hear from stalker and amos lol.

What kind of effective range are you getting with your BA?

Just curious, as I've never gamed a properly upgraded one.

Mine is still in need of a tb so its not getting what it should be. But I would say easily 250 feet maybe more. I am bad at putting numbers to eyeing the estimates. Don't worry though I know how to judge me MED lol. Rifle shoots too hot to not know how to do that. It does shoot farther than this though... But it becomes inconsitant outside of about 300 feet I would say.

But as its said before it doesn't matter how hard or far it shoots. Being a sniper is about field movment, concelment, and knowing how to be at the right place at the right time. And a shit load of patients. I have been with my vsr for almost a year and honestly only gotten about 10 to 15 kills with it so far. "Mind you it liked to break every game before i finally ran out of things to break".

Now you have me thinking.... one classic moment was my creeping over a berm of thick brush, saw Sonic doing the tactical run up to the side of a tower facing me, was only about 150ft away, I aimed and fired, saw a little branch a foot from my muzzle bounce, loaded another while wathing him surveying ahead of him, he's still couched down, I launch another and it hits the plywood just in front of his shoulder with a loud smack (0.36g), he starts, gets up and runs faster than I've seen him go before. Later he laughs and said he knew it was me, and there was no fucking way he was gonna stick around for another shot.

Another classic, there was a small group of great players (Bad Karma, etc.) holding a small base in the middle of an open field, I was stalking through the brush trying to get within range, got about to 200ft and fired a round, heard it smack the plywood, saw the guys all drop down behind cover. I moved sideways to another location and fired again after about 5mins, same reaction from my round hitting. Again, moved farther up, fired, same reaction. Did this once more, then heard on the radio two of my teammates were pinned down in a tower on the other side of the field (about 800ft away, the same one where I had my fun with Sonic), so I took off to help them out. Later, the owner of the LZ (TC) came up to me and asked if I was lobbing shots at the guys in the 'haybale base' at one point, I said I did, about 4 shots over 20mins then I left, he laughed and said I had them pinned down in there for a good hour! Lol, love being a sniper, it isn't about the kills, it's about the reactions of comingn close and the psychological effect on other from the "out of no where" shots. If you hit things and make your presence known, you don't need to get kills to be effective.

Lol its funny that people think you need thousands of rounds to properly surpress. I have seen someone do it very effectivly with a shot gun and done it my self as a sniper. If they know you are around people tend to bunker down... Allowing your team to flank in. If they don't know where you are they move cautiously waiting for that shot lol

I have seen a lot of shots bounce off people through my scope, look around and just keep playing.

Other then that I have not been playing the sniper role long enough for any really funny or exciting stories

The classic: player doesn't know you're watching, and he's all alone...so he picks his nose, really deep.

If you're a sniper, you've almost certainly witnessed this. It always makes me giggle.

My latest best moment was attacking a bunked in the midle of nowhere. I was in cover on top of a little ridge and I had good range on whoever tried to run in the bunker.

From my somewhat conceiled position, I opened fire on the opfor a good 400fts + from me. They where standing in the open, thinking they where out of range of anything. When my shots landed close to them, they all rand in the bunker, closer to me, thinking they would be able to defend it. The bunker was less than 200fts from me. I had very good range and precision on them. I dropped all of them one at the time.

The best thing is, it's on video.

I doubt you'd hit mine, since it's such a small target!

...wait a sec...
