Removing a VFC URX Rail
I've been wanting to remove my URX rail from my VFC SR-16 for some time. Read on the net it needed a special tool to unscrew the rail so I machined my own. It worked perfectly, got the rail nut off, but the problem is that I can't unscrew/take off the URX rail. I'd like to know how to precede in taking off the URX correctly. Thanks.

Good luck man. My VFC is tight as hell everywhere. I guess it goes to show they have solid externals. What are you putting on it instead?

Post a picture of how far you got. Cause rail nut can mean anything.
Normally on those rails it's mounted onto a special delta ring which screws into the upper receiver, then the rail screws onto the delta ring. |

I've loosened this nut.
It's the first nut I encountered while disassembling. I can't remove it do to the way the rail is made (Keeps the nut inside until the rail comes off) I believe there's the special delta ring right after. If you need a better picture I'd gladly do so. And Szevin, It's to be able to remove the barrel that I'm doing this (and maybe change the rail for another if ever it spikes my fancy.)

After the barrel nut is loose, as in your picture, twist the rail counter-clockwise off the upper, as if it's a screw.

I've tried unscrewing it counter-clockwise and with no success. It's extremely tight. I've forced it all I could and it didn't budge one bit. I'll continue to try, though from experience with this gun everything is extremely tight, as if it was soldered.

screw that nut all the way out, then just turn the rails counter clockwise to loosen it, if it's tight use something to torque it.

I banged mine out with a screw driver and hammer. I had to fix a loose outer barrel on mine. Its a pain in the ass man. I honestly forget which way it screws too. Looking at mine now, there are marks on both sides, because I obviously put it back on the same way. If you do it that way, be careful to not fuck up the nut too bad. Start out lightly to check which way it does screw off. Mines a little dinged up now, but I got it off!

It screws on like a pop bottle, but yeah be careful of it cause it will probably 90% scratch the body.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll wait till I change barrels and/or rail system to actually take it off so that I can limit the possible damages to the rail. Never thought it would be that hard to take off. (oh and I meant counter clockwise on my other post, sorry for that.)
(Oh wow, finally got it off using my hands. I wrapped the upper in my hands and against my chest. I forced it to unscrew not by applying constant force, but by giving it ''jolts'' of force until it got off.)
