Modify Hopup chamber?
Read several reviews on this unit but its still a bit under the jury for a rating.
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=2015 Whats interesting is that it comes with two arms - one being with a hopup nub already attached to it, not sure how good this would be but it would help with extra play if that is an issue for anyone. Has anyone tried one of these out? There was also a review that claimed they had an FPS increase by using this unit. Im more curious as to if it helped increase the range/accuracy of the bb itself. Other than that - are Prometheus Perfect Metal Chambers still the best? or is it all just personal opinion. |

Renegade) is using one of these units. he's been blasting me about how good they are but I'm happy with the madbull tracer hopup unit for the moment.

I just installed one last week and tried it out at a game. I've only had the change to use the fixed hop arm (as opposed to the one that accepts a rubber).
My initial impressions was that the resolution of adjustment is extremely low: what I mean by that is that on "regular" hopup units, there is adjustment via a whole rotation of the wheel. With the Modify unit, you go from no hopup to full hopup with about a 60 degree rotation. Once dialed-in though, it actually is quite good and consistent. I did have to file down a bit of my plastic TM M4 body's interior because one of the contours was interfering with one of the hop wheels. I haven't had a chance to chrony the FPS results before/after (waiting for my X3200 to come in), but I've read reports of a 20fps increase. |

Got one, love it. Consistent hopup, and it stays where you set it. The other arm is neat, doesn't require the use of a nub if you choose.
The inner gear is great for precise setting, the orings lock it all in place. One thing I recommend, is using one of those lock rings, that come with other sets, put it on the middle dial, somehow it popped out on me. Highly recommend this unit, I plan to put it in all my guns.

Any noticible changes in range?
I've also read that in conjunction with the SCS (Shredder's Concave Spacer) range is increased. Nothing but good things being read! Might have to try one out! Last edited by Rabbit; April 19th, 2011 at 15:54.. |

Used it, loved it! My biggest issue with M4 style hop ups is that they tend to be very loose and do not hold their setting. The Modifiy Hopup solves this issue by having teeth in the hopup arm so it can retain its position. This hopup allowed me to used a very hard bucking, something that I couldn't do with my stock VFC hopup b/c the wheel would instantly unwind itself. I intend to use Modify for all my guns, its real cheap too! For the price of a prommy chamber, I'd rather get 2 Modifys.

Based on this graveyard post some people dont suggest using the SCS with a MB II 6.03 and guarder clear which is exactly what I use.
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...concave+spacer airsoftparts is out of guarder clears as well so I have to be careful |

The scs isn't the main issue, the bigger problem in the mb v2 barrels outer diameter is smaller than the guarder clear rubbers inner diameter so you get a potential air leak.

The madbull shark (red) is also working great in my m4 with the v2 inner and scs. But I'm using the madbull hopup tracer unit.

I just installed one in my completely stock CA M15A4 U.A.C. and the performance is deceiving. Very tight fit because the modify hop-up is slightly larger than regular hop-up and hop-up gears protrudes in the fake bolt. Bolt catch is still working but the fake bolt cannot close completely by 1/4'' and when you are trying to close it this is disadjusting the hop-up. This hop-up is very sensitive to little movement of the adjustment wheel and the small adjustment range is making the hop-up fine adjustment very difficult.
I used the standard arm with a SCS nub. As you can see on the pictures the SCS is a perfect fit on the modify hop-up arm because it is slightly larger than conventionnal hop-up arm. The SCS nub and the modify arm are exactly the same width. I used a bit of glue to fix the SCS nub on the hop-up arm instead of grease as suggested by Shredder. I believe this solution is much better than trying to make the hop-up arm concave (the hop-up arm with molded nub). With the SCS glued in, if I compared the 2 provided arms, they look very similar in height and overal shape but the result might be better with the SCS nub. I didn't try the arm with the molded nub. The o-ring for the feed tube is not included and this is normal since Modify had trouble fitting some magazines. My set up is Prommy purple bucking+SCS and prommy EG 6.03x300mm inner barrel. Chrony result is 260-270 FPS with .25g BB Pros: Cheap Good quality and finish Simple design Larger hop-up arm Cons: Too large and tight fit Adjustment too sensitive (hard to adjust). Verdict: This unit is deceiving and you should get the the Prommy Neo Metal strike chamber instead. I plan to purchase this unit later to compare. Also Bucking/nub/inner barrel combination is important and may have more effect than just the hop-up itself. The prommy purple is a good bucking but the systema bucking witch is thinner is a better fit with the scs nub. I will also give a try to the firefly soft bucking with firefly normal buffer rubber. http://jalbum.net/a/954314/ Last edited by Warlock; May 5th, 2011 at 11:22.. |

Half the equation is right there, replace the Madbull hopup rubber with an ARS hopup rubber .
