Sounds a lot like the USMC's MAGTF demo. Good on 'em.

Members of 31 Canadian Brigade Group including infantry and rolling armour. With support from LAV mounted 25mm gun and CH-146 Griffons (not shown), this exciting combined assault by armour infantry on 'enemy' position demonstrates the extensive capabilities of today's CF.

pretty sure thats just the regular infantry. Our Recce squadron just uses Coyotes not lav-3s.
There is a possibility that its RCD's assault troop though. PS: Why the hell would you assault with a gwagon? |

Thats me getting arrested on enemy force! I'm in the center with the ballcap lol.
Oh and the G-Wagons are from 1H in london, the infantry are 4RCR, the LAV is from RCR in petawawa. The Gwagons are used and the enemy position is laughable because we're poor.

AS for weapons C7A2 is still the primary issue in at least my armoured regiment even though its suppose to be a C8. As for pers gear i've seen people with kit they had no reason for having and people without their basic kit so its not really the best indication. |

Sentry, as I could remember, you guys returned fire like only 5 times. Lol!
great demo btw. Is the cf-18 providing air support with the ch-146 in today's demo?

Well that's what happens when you get one magazine to last you through a firefight.. Between the three enemy force guys we had 3 c7s.. Only 2 had bolts in them and only 90 rounds of blanks for the 3 of us. Were doing another one today at 1445 and this time we get a bit more ammo to burn off.

The LAVIIIs would belong to 1RCR as they are the Mechanized Infantry Battalion in Ontario.
From what I remember a RCD in the Assault Troop told me, they have no vehicles. If they do, I highly doubt they would get LAVIIIs. In the Armour world I think it's only Sqn HQ and perhaps the Regiment's 9TAC. Buddy of mine(Armour Recce Reservist) was attached to the LdSH for TF 3-07 and I'm pretty sure he was a LAV driver for the Sqn OC. Sirtaco27, don't expect to be closing with and destroying the enemy as that is not the mission of Armour Recce. Recce observes, and reports what they see. Conducting Recces via vehicle(Reservists would use G-Wagon) or dismounted. As well Reserve Armour Recce is also tasked with Convoy Escort, and they were heavily employed in that role in Afghanistan for the NSE. Quote:
It sucks there wasn't more money spent on that event to make that demo a bit better. ie have 1-2 plywood "buildings" with the enemy force in them instead of a small stack of sandbags. Which in reality the LAV's 25mm would have no problem fucking up and killing the dudes behind it, no need to dismount dudes for that. Last edited by -Skeletor-; June 26th, 2011 at 14:06.. |

We had some TUA lavs but they're gone now(to where i have no idea). Our assault troop is really just a bunch of guys training for some military challenge in Wales. |
