Old Element FTK, any good?
So I found this FTK for only 25 bucks at gunner airsoft (there are others that are even cheaper). My question is, are they worth getting? I was thinking about putting one of these in an A&K Masada.

Generally I've found them to be good but sometimes you can get a lemon.
Some people call them pigshit and would never wipe their ass with one, but for me I've found that isn't the case. Also it looks like that one has the boxed-in teeth reinforced piston, not the lightweight clear one (which aren't bad either though). Last edited by Styrak; October 31st, 2011 at 10:41.. |

lock tight the piston head screw, watch the shimming, make sure the teeth to piston angles are good and they are fine for "general purpose" builds ... as long as your not trying to make some extreme psycho build (like 430+ fps and/or 30 some odd bps )
basically... follow all the standard gearbox do's and don'ts, and you should be just fine .. might be a little noisey .. but I've done a couple builds with em both 400fps and 330 fps .. and both builds have been through atleast 10K rounds now with no failures.

The MAX tune up kit you choose has extra torque gears. Unless you are pulling a very strong spring, go with the standard. The piston and gears are very nice, better than a lot of expensive brands.
