In need of beginner gun

Alright so I have rented them before from the field I play at during under-age events with my friends and have decided that I'd like to get an aeg, especially since the field is starting to grow and will be hosting even more games in the 2012 season. I already have a beautiful we m9 gbb and am getting a holster very soon. I have about a 500 dollars budget ( lower is preferable, and this budget includes optics, batteries and chargers that I may need to purchase separately) and am looking for a nice starter aeg.

Requirements:

- Durable, I'm careful with these airsoft guns, but I don't want to have to buy replacement parts or even a new aeg every day because a flimsy trigger is snapping off or the magazines wont stay in place.

- Suitable for outdoor play: The location is outdoors only at the moment, so something range would be nice.

-Ready right out of the box: Hop up adjustments are fine and a more powerful battery is ok, but I'm not sure a beginner should be disassembling his gun.

-FPS: 300-400 ought to be reasonable. I'll probably end up using .25 so, I'm not entirely sure how much it will affect the fps. The limit at the field is 450.

- I'd rather have a gun that functions beautifully on the inside than look great aesthetically

Wants: (not necessary, but would be nice)

- Easy to access hop-up.

- A top rail for optics ( from what I've tried, I like the idea of a tube style green dot or a trijicon acog).

- Mostly metal ( I'm in Canada, so I know the lower receiver is usually tinted, but if the rest could be metal I'd be happy).

- Something apart from the m4 family is not necessary but I'd like to have something closer to an m16, or at least an m4 with a longer barrel. The m4's I've used seem to be a little bit short for my arms.

I've used the website torontoairsoft.com before for my m9 and was really happy with it ( customer service, quick and free shipping, etc) but if there's another site that can be TRUSTED then that's fine. I was looking at buyairsoft, but I heard it is a troublesome site.

Thanks for your time helping a new player out.

King Arms Colt M4A1 is your best bet.

King Arms M4A1 the receiver will be metal as for the stock, grip and hand guard they will likely be plastic (unless you have an RIS) and the carry handle is removable so it has top rails!

Don't buy from buyairsoft

As for places you can buy the KingArms M4A1 its not hard to find but I can't tell you until you are Age Verified. For how to get Age Verified check out the Age Verified FAQ.

Ahh ok. Yeah that makes sense I suppose. Although I am still stuck with the problem of coming up with a nice beginner gun for my father and I to use at the field in various events. Ok, thanks for the above stuff. I'm going call the owners of the field I go to and ask them for more info because they know a lot more about this than I do. They can probably help me find the KA m4 as well and upgrade/downgrade it to be safe to use at their field.

Have your father come out and meet an age verifier...

Then you are all set.

If a field is allowing you to rent guns keep the $500 and use it for rentals. There will be much better guns available by the time you can be A/V'd then you can have the latest and greatest in technology.

KA M4 isn't 500.... I oft see it at 350... low as 250... but 350 is the avg price now, excellent gun and very durable.

I'll ask him to, I've still got a good 2 years to go before I can be a/v'd. The rentals they had are very old and falling apart, with the batteries dying every hour or so

We all started someplace, consider yourself lucky to be involved in the sport at 16.

My 15 year old has been taught gun safety, and how the guns operate (for safety, since they are in the house) but is not permitted to touch them without permission and has never fielded an airsoft gun.

Yeah, the sport is definitely a lot of fun. The field is even starting a target based sport shooting event that I'm going to take place in to become more familiar with the airsoft guns.

I'm underage so I won't give out my exact location but I'm in Ontario. I looked at the age verifier section and theres people nearby. My father is getting interested in the sport as well so I'm going to have him go rent a gun and try the sport and maybe get a/v'd

Ok well keep and eye out if your in southern Ont near Kitchener sometimes my team may host on our private field and will let minors interested in the sport play (subject to team approval and the like), having a parent who can watch you is all the better.

Tokyo marui are good "beginner guns"
Ridiculously reliable, they never break down.
Fairly inexpensive.
If you were 18 and had access to our classified you could get a marui starter package with everything you wanted in your budget range.

With a sorbo pad, new hop rubber and 350fps spring, total about $30, it's a great outdoor performer.
