How to take apart KA M4 Mid Cap

Just got a bunch of KA mid caps and I'm having jamming problems with them. They are the plastic version btw.

Lubed up with silicon and still doesn't work.

The bb's are not being pushed to the top of the mag, they get stuck about 10mm below the feeding lip.

It seems like the first bb keeps getting lodged between the plastic piece pushing the bb's up and the side of the mag. I have no idea how to prevent this from happening!

The only thing I can think of now is to open the damn thing up and see what the hell is going on. Anyone know how to open an king arms m4 mid cap mag?

Start with an unloaded mag. Put a few BBs in then put a drop or 3 of silicone oil on top of them. Load the mag to full. Unload those BBs and reuse them to load the mag again (this way you're using the oily BBs over again to ensure the mag is lubed).

After loading and unloading 2 or 3 times, it should be fixed. Keep using the same oily BB's and add a drop or 2 of new oil for each mag using the above method.

Basically as said above, lube your mags perhaps try a different brand of BB's?

It was the bb's. I tried TM bb's instead of excel bb's. TM bb's are much smoother and feed perfectly. The excel bb's are almost matted and I guess it was causing too much friction. 4 hours of lubing, reload, unload, and messing around with the spring. Oh, and I also lost one of the plastic caps on the bottom that keep the spring in. Now I have to tape the bottom end in place. FML

Even though I got the problem fixed.... I'd still like to know how to open one of these mags up. Anyone figure it out?

Are they these ones? Do they look like this on the bottom?
If so you just rotate the piece 90 degrees with a screwdriver or something similar and it comes out. That's the only way you open them, unless you want to break it open.

yup... that's it. I know you can take the spring out by unscrewing the nub on the bottom, but I want to know how to take the entire thing apart! I can't figure out how this thing is put together without fear of breaking it. I know it's probably just some tabs holding it together but the plastic is very stiff and I don't want to break it.

you can't. it's molded

...all you can do is take out that lug and pull out the spring and follower, the rest of the magazine, as coachster said, is molded.

You can take a screw driver or some other prying device and separate the halves; but then you'll end up with a broken mag... not good for anyone IMO...

Haha cool well thanks! Next time I'm gonna get mags you can take apart! So much easier to clean and lube!

Yes. They can be broken into two halves and epoxied back together. Considering the success rate and aggravation i have stopped working on mags and started recommending just replacing them. If you don't mind the time and are just messing around you can carefully break it.

True, at $8 a pop, it's not worth the hassle!
